I'm pretty sure that there should have been a procedure penalty on that touchdown.

That scene was awesome. I didn't stop laughing through the entire thing.

That was all over the place weirdness, yet strangely fun.
I might be over this show. I won't say they're doing anything particularly awful, but it takes a lot for me to keep up with a show every week, and this show ain't doing it right now.

Holy Auto-Tune. Was it just me or was it extremely more apparent this episode? I'm almost ready to call it quits on this show, but then it has a moment like the "Maybe This Time" number. I'm game for another episode.
Haha, that was exactly what I thought too. "Holy shit, she's channeling Sedaris."Quoting Acapelli (view post)

Oh, she was also less than impressed by my awareness that the extra kick not only would have been blocked, but both holder and kicker would likely be taking a ride in an ambulance for taking that much time to get the kick off.Quoting Kurosawa Fan (view post)
I like this show, but the fact that utilizes one of the most nonsensical "high-school drama" tropes, that of some kind of weird, rigidly stacked social hierarchy, kind of takes away from it a little.
I mean, was anyone's high school like this? Anywhere? Ever?
Seriously? Yes, mine most definitely was. This isn't some bizarre myth perpetrated by film and TV. Sure most exaggerate it, but it definitely exists.Quoting BuffaloWilder (view post)

Some interesting new characters. I like the addition of Biest, and MickJaggerface can be interesting. But Christ, Rachel was a bitch. Also, she looked pretty terrible. What's with that weight loss?
I have the major hots for Sunshine. Especially with glasses. She had the only standout number of the episode. Their "Empire State of Mind" was pretty underwhelming.
Other than that, Mike Chang's presence continues to crack me up.
Biggest laugh is still Brittany. "Stop the violence."
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
Really, really didn't like the season premiere. I felt they fell back on some too obvious humor and the musical numbers were rather unimpressive.
Still, I have high hopes for the Brittany/Britney episode tomorrow. If nothing else it promises to be a lotta fun.
Things I did like from this episode:
* Rachel being a bitch. I like it. It fits her character and I'm glad she's not an angel now.
* Sue. (Especially her "SHUT UP" in the bathroom and her "the indians sold Manhattan for an upskirt picture of Betsy Ross" crack)
* Telephone. Not even a fan of the song, but the energy those two had when singing it together was quite good.
Favorite exchange:
Finn: She's a...controllist.
Rachel (whispering): I'm controlling. Controllist isn't a word.
What's really funny is that we have a friend here in town who likes the over-the-top campiness of scenes like the football dance, but completely railed against the self-righteous, self-centered monologuing characters in the drama/glee club.Quoting Kurosawa Fan (view post)
She felt the monologuing "felt artificial" and that people in high school "never acted like that."
First of all, I asked her what high school she went to, because high school students have always acted like that (even if their volumes are slightly turned down), but then, to rip on the monologueing?
Really? I thought that added to the camp factor. It felt like an 80s movie, updated to the aughts.
I'm slow. I just realized that "New Directions" is a pun for "Nude Erections."
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
Definitely a comeback episode. And I don't think it's a coincidence that everyone loves this episode, and Mr. Shuster's wife didn't play a part.
I haven't been able to stop singing "Somebody to Love". It's actually become kind of annoying.
Emma is a great character, but her pathetic need to be coupled is getting on my nerves.
Otherwise, great episode.
...and the milk's in me.
Oh man, next week is going to be fantastic.
I'm glad they found a way to shoehorn Jane Lynch again. She's been missed lately.
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
It's not just her, though. Pretty much everybody on the show seems to be always thinking about coupling—even Rachel.Quoting Mara (view post)
I forget where the show is set, but it's supposed to be small town midwest, right? Where everybody marries their high school sweethearts and never leave?
