Django Unchained and The Hunger Games are the only two movies I'm super excited about. I usually don't think much about movies until they're close to coming out.

Really only super excited about the big three comic movies (Dark Knight Rises, Avengers, Spider-Man). There's plenty of other movies I'm looking forward to, though I wouldn't say I'm too excited about them necessarily.

Edit: Oh, and I believe The Man of Steel is a 2013 release. That would be awesome if they could make it release next year, though, have the big four franchises all in one year.

I'll exclude 2011 films that won't make it to theaters near me until 2012...

    1. The Grandmasters (Wong Kar Wai)
    2. Gravity (Alfonso Cuaron)
    3. Much Ado About Nothing (Joss Whedon)
    4. The Master (Paul Thomas Anderson) *possibly 2013*
    5. Cool Water (Emir Kusturica)
    6. Only God Forgives (Nicolas Winding Refn)
    7. Moonrise Kingdom (Wes Anderson)
    8. John Carter (Andrew Stanton)
    9. Django Unchained (Quentin Tarantino)
    10. Argo (Ben Affleck)

I'm assuming Inside Llewyn Davis is not going to release until 2013, otherwise that may top the list.

Doubt Spike Lee will have Oldboy finished by then. He'll still have his low budget movie from Sundance though.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Jonathan Glazer movie with Scarlett Johannson as a sexually predatorial alien. Under the Skin.

I'm still working on '09: Dogtooth, Face, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Les Herbes folles, Indepencia, Mother, No One Knows About Persian Cats, Police, Adjective, The Time That Remains, To Die Like a Man, The White Ribbon, and I'm probably going to see The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus tomorrow.
I've seen all of these except Face, Indepencia, No One Knows About Persian Cats (I started watching it but turned it off after fifteen minutes), and To Die Like a Man (it's on my laptop). Incidentally, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus just opened in mainland China this month.

The Banshees of Inisherin (Martin McDonagh, 2022) mild

The current list in the blog located in my sig is largely based off of IMDB.com. Unfortunately they didn't go beyond November for some stupid reason.

Have the highest hopes for new films from younger/not-wholly-established filmmakers.

I guess, but they've still only two features under their belts & debuts last decade, which puts them in the 'up-and-comer' categoriy.

This had better be a marked improvement over his abysmal debut for me to be interested.
