I agree. I think they still struggle to work in flashbacks, and I'm not sure any of the flashbacks to date have added anything critical to the series. Fantastic otherwise, I loved the Clark scene as well.

Elizabeth's pickup line was gloriously cheesy.
Indeed. Poor, poor Martha. And yes, Nina. The post wedding chat was an emotional highlight for the season.
I feel sorry for Martha, but I'm not on her side. I'm reading reviews online that have turned completely against Phillip and Elizabeth, but I am still totally rooting for them. Martha is so silly and sad that I have trouble empathizing too much.
Although I'm beginning to wonder if Phillip and Elizabeth might not get back together-- at least, not for a long time yet.

Finally caught up. Anyone think that Phillip and Elizabeth will be caught, and next season they betray the Soviets and work for the U.S?

Hmm. It would be more interesting if only one of them did.

Just caught up. So much going on that episode, but we need to stop and focus on the glory of Margo Martindale playing Pac Man.
This season knocked it out of the park. I cannot believe how surprising, absorbing, and increasingly addictive it was. I'm crossing my fingers that this isn't a one-season wonder and that they can continue to keep this level of excellence.

Martindale made my best supporting actress Cuttie nom ballot for that one scene where she was the doddering aunt, and then got all throat-slicey. Damn that woman is amazing.

Brilliant, brilliant television. It managed to join Mad Men and Game of Thrones as a show that I have to keep up with every week. That's a feat, as I've always got stuff piling up. These last two episodes were so tense and masterful. Love it.

Good lord, yes. I wish they continued that scene with a longer monologue.Quoting Mara (view post)

“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
I'm using my Amazon Prime free trial to rewatch. I might break down and buy the DVDs.
Just get Prime. It's worth it. They have a lot of good stuff Netflix and Hulu don't. Also, 2 day shipping saved my life a bunch of times.
