New Mirror's Edge trailer showing some more alternate routes. Promising, but framerate doesn't appear silky smooth, and I wish the game was even faster. Still don't care about the combat aspects. Nevertheless, finding the perfect route without so much as blinking could be a terrific experience. Zen and all that.
    This looks great.

Compared to the last version of Civ that I played (Civ 1), the graphics are one hell of a lot better, and there's a whole helluva lot more to do.

All silliness aside, what I have read is that the game has sacrificed some of the super depth that the PC versions have had, so as to make it more accessible on a console. So, if you enjoy the micromanagement aspect of Civ, you might be disappointed. But like I said, the last version I played of Civ is more than 15 years old, so compared to that, this is pretty deep.
Back in the days of Civ2 and Civ3, I could get pretty addictive. I really liked the fact that you could play games that would last weeks or months even. My interest is piqued for the new game, but I might wait until it hits bargain bins.

I'm going through some serious 360 withdrawal.

Started No More Heroes today. Sweet game so far (currently ranked ninth). Absolutely in love with Suda51's apparent design philosophy. Hope he continues to make awesome games like this.

I just beat it a couple weeks ago. Simplistic and repetitive, but as per Killer7, has some interesting ideas floating around. And what other game would have you listen to your character talk to himself in his mind while he tries to fight his opponent? I love little touches like that. You wouldn't see it elsewhere.
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

I'd like to, but I really don't play many PC games anymore, and I'm honestly concerned that I would get so addicted to it my social/work life would be seriously damaged.

I hope Suda51 makes some 360 and PS3 games this gen.

I cannot wait to see what his unannounced horror title is, especially since he is collaborating with Q Entertainment (REZ), and it is being funded by EA.

I won't give up hope for a No More Heroes remake on the 360 or PS3. I would love to see this game running on a more powerful system than the Wii, and since the motion control didn't really add anything, nothing would be lost.

I'll get it once I get a new PC. Probably sometime next year.

Trust me, civ 4 is the game to get, and it's cheap what with it being a bit old.

Playing through the original "Halo" on my X-Box.

Enjoy it, but damn is it blandy-mcbland.

I really don't understand how this series became so mind-numbingly popular. I can think of a plethora of other shooters that are more inventive, well-executed, and above all fun.

I guess the high production values really sucked people in...or something.

Oh yeah, I'll get it for my Mac this week. They are even releasing the Mac version at the same time as the Windows version. I have to support that! :P

Nope. It's the kind of game I cannot see myself getting immersed in.

I do believe it is one of the most awesome environments I've ever set foot in and even if there was repetition in terms of structures and textures I remained in awe until the very end. Combat was intense and thrilling. Exhausting too, requiring patience from the player to defeat some of the tougher foes, but that's what combat is at the worst of times and I loved it. The rechargeable shield was a great idea, squadmates were cool, vehicles were badass. It had numerous "I-wonder-if-I-could-do-that? Holy-shit-I-can!!!" moments for me.

Oh, and sticky plasma grenades. Immensely satisfying when one sticks in the middle of a pack of covenant.

The AI and the wide breadth of possible scenarios is what made the original Halo so awesome. You could play the same skirmishes numerous times and they would often play out in different ways. Not since the original Half Life had I been so impressed with the enemies I was fighting. That is was on a console made it even more amazing. It was the first console FPS to really capture the feel of the PC. Has it stood the test of time like the original Half Life? I don't know, but it doesn't really matter. I do not think the Halo series is the end all be all, not even close, but I totally understand why it is so popular and I respect it for doors it opened for console FPSs.

Halo is the Goldeneye of the new generation of consoles. It was finely tuned, balanced and the LAN multiplayer was pretty much the best thing available for me then. Loved it to death.

Outing myself as an ex-MMO nerd, but I logged onto my Everquest account for the first time 4 years yesterday. The guild I was in still exists, albeit at a much smaller level, with mostly the same characters playing.

    Ouch.

Bah, Bungie were never the same after Microsoft took them over. From masterpieces like Myth and Marathon to… that? Where was the rich story? I played several levels of Halo, but abandoned it. Compared to something as compelling as Myth 2, it just couldn't stand up.

The "Halo" games have some of the most repetitive level design I have seen in my entire life.

And there are, what? Four? Five different types of enemies in the entire game?

No wonder the game has such technically impressive graphics - the designs are so monotonous and the game so short, they probably had to add lots of minute detail to the textures just to fill up the disc space.

I just played through the "Assault on the Control Room" level in the first game, and holy crap that level is boring as hell.

You see the exact same environments over, and over, and over, and over, and over.

Seriously, WHY is this series so popular??? The third game is by far the best, and even that one doesn't touch other shooters.

Been there, only my guild when from being decent sized and powerful to one of the top guilds on the server. Also mostly the same people running the show, but there were some new faces. Was kinda sad actually.

    Do you have a 360?

It's now available on X-Box LiVE.
