Read this as Eddie Murphy at first and it blew my mind that I hadn't heard about it yet.

Sid Haig was pretty cool. RIP.

I only know Eddie Money from his hits, where as I am pretty familiar with The Cars.

I don't like that he's described as "character" actor in headlines announcing his passing...its like he's in a lesser class or something? It would be fine to describe him that way in the obit, but in the title feels odd. Maybe I'm just nit picky.

I think the expression "character actor" is just used as a blanket for any actor who isn't famous as a leading man.

But yeah, bummer, and kind of amazing that he died the same day as his latest movie was released.

I know, but...it just feels weird in the title. Like, hey "actor you normies probably don't know the name of" died...

    Fucking GREAT movie.
Hear hear. Probably my favorite captain in any sci-fi movie. I love how, at the first hint of things going south on the Cygnus, he's pretty much, okay, we're leaving NOW. None of this lets split up and do stupid things that puts as many people as possible in harm's way bullshit. He's always about the TCB and keeps a level head the entire time.

Hahah yeah, that's exactly how it's used. It's even a running joke in Bojack Horseman.

Not perfect, but damn memorable. Highlight? John Barry's score.

Disney released it on Blu-ray recently, but it's not for sale outside of their Disney store. Huge bummer. Don't wanna go on ebay.

    Cacho Castaña
(1942-2019), previously considered inmortal tango singer and composer who kept his hard-drinking, cocaine-taking lifestyle until the end, surviving I don't even remember how many heart attacks. In recent years he became known for all the wrong reasons, a.k.a. awful comments about rape and politics and the surfacing of a couple of old stories about statutory rape, as well as the analysis of one of his old lyrics which was about beating up an unfaithful girlfriend.

Marcelo Zlotgwiazda (1958-2019), Argentinian journalist known for his many clashes with censorship and his long career in radio and TV. If we are to believe the reactions to his death, everybody liked him.

Esmeralda Barros (1945-2019), Brazilian actress who starred in many Italian cult classics in the 1970s.
