I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Does anyone else recall the 1997 Blade Runner point-and-click game for the PC? This was actually my first experience with Blade Runner. I didn't own the game, but I remember being really taken aback by the visuals and the atmosphere when I saw it running in retail stores. From what I've read, it seems to be held in high esteem by many and is considered to be one of the shining examples of the point-and-click genre (alongside The Secret of Monkey Island games, which I know very little about).

I never played that one, Duke, but I remember it being reviewed really well when it came out.

I was always a big fan of "Myst" and "Riven". From reading more current articles apparently these games have not aged well, but they provided numerous hours of entertainment to me and my entire family.

I used to devour gaming publications back in the day. i remember coming accros a few blade runner reviews Meg. They were positive.

in other news, some boredom is setting in with GTA V pertaining to the side missions, the planning of the heists and the cut scenes. I look forward to a game after this one where shit moves forward. Probably will be halo 4.

I have a few (old) games up for sale, if anyone's interested:

I think I'm realizing that the Tales games are just not for me. I played about 6 of hours Vesperia before getting bored, played about 20 hours of Graces F before quitting, and now just played about 4 hours of Xillia and I have zero interest of going any farther. I really dislike the battle system and the story and characters are pretty universally mediocre.

I've been in a JRPG mood too so I think I'll bust out Xenoblade Chronicles and give it a try.

The Tales games are some of the most mediocre, generic, by-the-numbers video games I've ever played. The rabid fandom for that franchise totally baffles me.

The characters and the stories - two very important things in a story-driven RPG - are worse than the most milquetoast examples in all of anime and manga. Just completely forgettable and interchangeable.

The last one I played was on the Gamecube, and it was so bad it was laughable. And yet I kept reading message boards about people being brought to tears by how dramatic and moving it was. I don't know - maybe it's an age/generation thing.

Do you have a Vita? If so, I highly recommend the newest Ys game. It's an action-RPG, and easily the best new game from 2013 I've played. It's incredibly fun, fast-paced, with rewarding combat and exploration.

I do not. I'm not a big fan of portables in general. I have a 3DS and I'll play it and enjoy it when I'm travelling or something but if I'm at my house I much prefer to play games on a tv.

If you have a 3DS and want to play an RPG, you should get Bravely Default.

There's definitely something fundamentally wrong about GTA V. Yesterday I broke into the FIB building, one of the bigger missions towards the latter half of the game. Despite Michael calling the mission suicidally dangerous afterwards and Lester being all nervous beforehand, there was literally zero skill involved in pulling it off nor was it anywhere close to being a challenge. I appreciate that Rockstar are gunning for a cinematic kinda flair, which means some of the more mundane tasks such as impersonating a janitor and mopping the floor of the building comes with the territory, but gameplay-wise I don't applaud sacrificing a hefty, adrenaline-inducing challenge for the sake of making shit cinematic.

Well which mission did you accept to get into the building?

The missions are completely different. One of them is guns blazing and really hard and the other is more subtle and less hard. They should have explained that to you when you are about to choose.

They did explain, but the way Lester phrased it made it feel like both weren't gonna be especially easy, just different. Two different approaches doesn't mean one should be boring and a complete walkover. That's poor design. The original Splinter Cell game on the Xbox wasn't a guns blazing game, but it sure was pretty hard as was Metal Gear Solid. So yeah, if I wanted to I could replay that mission and get more bang for my buck which is admittedly nice, but I still think it smells fishy.

Finished "AC IV". Nice ending but felt like it was building to something a little more.

I played through all 10 or so hours of God of War II this weekend. The second one is an improvement from the first in pretty much every way and gets rid of most of the jank of the original game. I actually had never played this one either. I've only played (and finished) 1 & 3.
