    Hey guys.

I'm out of the hospital and at my parents' house to start my recovery. The surgery went well and the weekend was quite boring, but in cases like that, its a good thing.

The staff was good, but I'm just glad to be home.

Sorry I didn't update you guys from within the hospital, but for some inexplicable reason, Match-Cut was blocked as a "hostile" site by the Hospital's security server.

I expect cabin fever to set in any day now.
Glad your surgery was a success! Hope your recovery goes well!

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Thanks for all the good wishes, guys I will keep you abreast of my progress

My work preemptively scheduled a snow day tomorrow. I love it when they do that. We haven't had a snow day in two years because it's been so weirdly mild here. Right now it is sunny and blue skied and probably near 50 degrees... doesn't feel like we'll have a foot of snow tomorrow.
    ...and the milk's in me.

Stent is in, blood flow looks good. Still has two 100% blockages, but those have been there for quite some time, so they're looking at possible bypass down the road. They put a stent in the 95% blocked one (a branch of circum flex, the OM). They believe that is the one that caused the event. They may start backing off the sedation at midnight tonight. Tomorrow will be a 'fun' day keeping him restrained as he wakes up.

Has he been kept unconscious this whole time? Yikes.

I'm glad to hear about the progress, though. He sounds like a pretty tough guy.

He's been ventilated the whole time. They brought him around on February 28th to see if he had any neck pain, which he didn't, so they removed the neck brace then (he hit his head on the bowling ball return when he dropped). We communicated with him for awhile, and he was able to remind us that he did 200 push ups and 300 situps three times a week, (yes, he's 70). After his angiogram, we found out about all the blockages, and they were originally going to do a triple bypass, and he, uh, kicked a nurse in the chest, so he went from just having his arms restrained to having his legs restrained too. They decided to keep him heavily sedated until the surgery. Due to a mild infection, they decided just to do an angioplasty and look at bypass down the road.

Did I mention he was a boxer, too? I know what I'm like if I get startled awake.

For a better update on the chain of events, feel free to check out the caring bridge link I posted earlier in the thread.

Jesus Christ, Scar. Did your Dad have a heart attack or was he accidentally exposed to kryptonite?

My house goes on the market next Tuesday and I'm starting to bug.

This is way more stressful than I originally thought.

Just finding new space or leaving Philly? And yeah, selling a home is ulcer-inducing stuff.

Leaving the city and heading to the Philly burbs for better public schools. We're starting to outgrow our place and though I love the city I am a nature boy at heart. Place I'm putting a bid on is basically in the woods and exactly what I want. Lots of land and privacy and seclusion and scenery. My pre-approval letter to buy in the price range I want to buy is contingent upon me selling my current place which adds to the stress.

Will miss this place. I put a shitload of work into it and feel very connected to it.

I did the same thing Benny in 2008. I love Boston. I can always drive 30 miles and go to it whenever I want. But the burbs is where I want to live.

    Good luck to you!

I've been in the hunt for six months now. The inventory level (at least in SoCal) is absolutely horrible for buyers. Great for sellers and their agents, though.

Stuck in a big meeting. There's a woman in front of me wearing the UGLIEST* purple chenille sweater who seems to be incessantly texting her boyfriend. Pretty racy stuff, from what I can see. He's not responding so I don't know what's up with that.

I should ask her out during the break, just to mess with her. Like to breakfast.

    * Ugly because it hides her form. And I'm not totally sure that color goes with her skin tone.
