I never get tired of reading about Dali's shenanigans:

On March 6, 1970, surrealist artist Salvador Dal* appeared on the show with silent screen star Lillian Gish and baseball legend Satchel Paige. Dal* carried an anteater on a leash in with him when he came on stage, and he tossed it in Gish's lap, much to her consternation.

Cavett asked Dal* why he had once arrived to give a lecture at the Sorbonne in an open limousine filled with heads of cauliflower. Dal* responded with a barely-coherent discourse regarding the similarity of the cauliflower head to the "mathematical problem discovered by Michelangelo in the rhinoceros' horn".
    I love him dearly.

your friend told you to mount his dogs?
I suppose it helps that I know he's being sarcastic and does not actually want me to stimulate intercourse with his dogs.

How would Derek know what to do when the dog licks her vagina? Thank heavens Derek has good friends.
Well, it's the male dog licking the female's vagina. I will probably not let that slide for long, but it depends on whether the hilarity outweighs the disgust.

Male dogs often lick bitches' vaginas. It's a reflex of some sort. Even when they're completely useless at... procreation, they do it.

I once lived with three neutered male dogs (all belonging to roommates) and they would dry-hump each other constantly. All three at once. We called it "puppy porn." Eventually we gave up trying to tear them apart-- if we chased off one, the other two would keep going.

A good friend just found out that her second and last child is (also) going to be a boy. She's crushed. It's not really accepted in our culture to admit that you really, really want to have a child of a particular sex, so she feels like she can't talk about it with anyone.

I feel bad for her. I know she'll get around to the idea of another son, and that she'll love him to death when he arrives, but it's hard to see her grieve for a daughter.

We're in the "any child, as long as it's a boy" cultural basket. My aunt (father's sister) had two boys, and when she got pregnant for the third time, my uncle yelled at my mom for jokingly suggesting in conversation that "a girl would be nice now, don't you think?" He was seriously offended, to him it was like she was "jinxing it" somehow.

He's a rather... well, "traditional" is not a good word, as it implies that our traditions are THAT backasswards.

My mother did lose a girl after my brother was born. Barely made it alive. I only found out recently. I so wish we had a little sister.

Dina has embarrassing pics of her dog, Bilbo, his dad JoJo and his nephew Srba. They're family and none of them are neutered, so it's a bit creepy, too.

Every Kid Rock song ever, condensed down into a single chorus:

    American badass
    Cowboys, football and pussy
Fuckin' in the back of my pickup truck
    Listenin' to Freebird
    Yeeeaaaahhhhh
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

Give him up for adoption and try again. Is that not doable? Or adopt a daughter?

You guys should see the film My Dog Tulip, as Tulip's owner and lifelong companion doesn't think twice about massaging Tulip's vagina with a lubricant to assist in his efforts to have her mated, so she can experience motherhood and pups and everything. Talk about awkward. Not a cartoon for kids. Great film, tho.

I just got into the Google Music Beta and I have the same problem I have with the Amazon cloud in that you can't make any changes to music you have. They have the wrong cover art on some of my albums and you can't edit that. It splits some of my albums into two or more albums because they have guest stars on them and I can't put them back together. You can't edit song or album titles.

They're not going to abandon their child just because he's a boy.

Honestly, I'd suggest adoption if they decide they want a third child. She's getting a little old to give birth again, and the first birth was a horrific gore-fest that left her bedridden for two months. This time she has to get a c-section, but even so they told her she shouldn't have more children after this.

They should look into adopting a girl, I think, if they can handle it financially.

Heh. Amy Winehouse just did a "comeback gig" in Belgrade. She couldn't remember the lyrics, muttered those she could, fell on her ass a couple of times, until finally the audience started booing her, and calling "Moby! Moby!", as he was to go next. That's just... sad.

That's too bad, the reports on the June 12th show were apparently positive.

Makes you value PJ Harvey all the more - huge amount of talent, plus the personality to actually handle it all.

While she is undeniably talented and I do wish her the best with regards to putting her life and career back together, I must say that I have absolutely no sympathy for the Amy Winehouse's and Lindsay Lohan's of the world.

EDIT: Perhaps more sympathy for Lohan since she was a child star, and that seems to really mess people up.
