A woman brought her dog into work because her condo association only gave her a couple of hour's warning before spraying her apartment with insecticides. Besides which, it's a non-story. The only reason it's a big deal is because the media has decided to make it a big deal and splash it all over the headlines. People burn and desecrate controversial things all the time-- it's the go-to incendiary* action for unimaginative rabble-rousers. I don't like your tax hike-- I burn your flag! I don't like your politics-- I burn your effigy! I don't like your religion-- I burn your book! I don't like your stage costumes-- I burn your CD!
Since when does that mean anything? It doesn't hurt the person you're insulting in any way. All it does is make nasty, hard-to-clean-up scorch marks on concrete, and possibly it hurts the environment (burning CDs can't be good.)

Agreed. Being involved a bit in the YouTube community, a few weeks ago this person decided to smoke a joint rolled from a page of the Bible. It became a 'big deal' because people made it so. I recognized that it was a childish stunt from the beginning. It also helped that she self-appointed the name "BibleGate" to the event. :lol:
