Welp, here I am again, working on a Sunday. Third week in a row. This wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't already in here earlier today, getting everything done. But then someone called up and explained that the documents they sent me were wrong, so I had to come back in. And then I found some mistakes on one of them, and I was told to correct it. It was either that or point out that a higher-up had fucked up.

I've been using "you don't pay me enough for that" as an excuse to get out of overtime and extra shifts at work lately.

Because, well, they don't pay me enough.

When the two other workers write themselves checks for $2500 every month, then pay me minimum wage to do all their work for them, I'm done sticking my neck out to help them.

My work instituted a three week notice policy if you need to request a vacation or even just ask for a day off for a doctor's appointment or something so I instituted the same policy and when they ask me to come in on my day off or when someone calls in sick I tell them to give me three weeks notice also.

Both are fairly common practices. Although the latter one won't really help you out with whatever company that is.

Two weeks is common practice, three weeks is just being obnoxious. Especially when they wait till 30 minutes before going home on friday to mention that they need people to come in on saturday.

Hey. I just got Employee of the Month for this. And since we only do Employee of the Month once or twice a year, I'm counting it slightly higher.

I got a certificate, and a little engraved plaque, and a gift certificate.

But I'm still going to ask for a raise next month.
