Anyone else think Katy Perry looks almost identical to Zooey Deschanel?

Seriously, if Deschanel had DD's, she'd be Katy Perry.

    http://www.twentyfourbit.com/post/96...eschanel-quote

When we posted that Zooey Deschanel found being constantly confused for Katy Perry “a little bit annoying,” we didn’t think there was any animosity in her quote towards the pop singer whatsoever. So, we were surprised that MTV News’ Kim Stolz would suggest there was. Either way, Perry’s response to their similar appearance was very interesting.

When asked if she gets mistaken for Deschanel, Perry said it used to happen all the time during her eight years living in Los Angeles. “I mean, it got really funny, but I met her and she was really cool and, like, we used to shop at this same store on Saturdays – this, like, girls shop,” she said. “And um, yeah, she and I look alike, yes. Obvious. We have the dark hair and the blue eyes, but of course, I look like Lily, I look like Natasha Khan…”

And if Katy Perry had an ounce of talent, she'd be Zooey Deschanel.

Because Zooey Deschanel only has an ounce of talent.

I'm very tempted to give Comcast Cable the finger and sign up for either DirecTV or Dish Network.

I've been surprisingly pleased with my Comcast service here in WA. They were terrible in CA, but up here they seem to have their crap together.

Just be thankful you do not need to deal with Time Warner Cable.

On the other side of the Mississippi here in Minnesota, Comcast was fine. We're on the side that Comcast bought from Time Warner.... The cable boxes are different, and the On Demand is quite shitty.

Been here over a year, and my patience has worn thin.

An actual citation in a recent bibliography that the author strongly preferred to keep rather than eliminate:

    "Unknown newspaper, 1946."

That's it. That's literally all the citation had to say.

    Some people should not write.
"How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home wine-making course and forgot how to drive?"

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I switched from Comcast (before it turned into Time Warner around here) to DirecTV several years ago. No regrets so far.

I hate cable. I really do. Sure I can get TCM, CN, and ESPN with it but I really don't feel they are worth the hassle and annoyance that comes with dealing with cable companies. The local one around here is the only one, and thus knows it can get away with being an asshole monopoly. And dish really isn't much better. I think I'll just pass for now.

    what's the job?
It's a Quality Hardware Engineering position. The job its self is pretty normal, but it's the commute that's killing me. 40-60 minutes in the morning 60-80 in the evening. I think I need to adjust from my 10 minute commute before I got laid off.

So, sometimes I get pop-ups at my work computer, and usually I shut them down without a second glance. This one, however, caught my eye:

Look at it for a second.

    Keep looking.

Okay, so. There are three possible explanations for this ad, ranked in order of likelihood:

    1. The makers of the ad really didn't pay attention in biology class. (I'd make a "how is babby formed" joke, but can we all just agree that it's been overplayed?)

    2. The ad is trying to appeal to the overwhelming, financially significant demographic of lesbian couples who choose to commit to each other and start a family, but decide against adoption and instead go for artificial insemination.

    3. The makers of the ad didn't talk to the people who choose graphics, just sent the layout along with a post-it note attached, saying it was "some women's thing."
    ...and the milk's in me.

I think more than likely it is that typically, a girl who is not married will check with a friend/sister as opposed to her boyfriend. I think they're just waiting for one or both results as opposed to being in love.

    Or, maybe you're right.

The girls I know who aren't in a position to check the test with a boyfriend are usually checking it alone in the restroom at the front of Target.

This comment is so awesomely caustic. I didn't know you had the overt--but very fair--meanness in you, Natalie. I'm proud.

As for the ad, I tend to agree with Raiders with their intention, but also think it's legitimate to suggest that the graphics department was just told it's an ad for a "lady thing." Semiotics are fun!
