Heh. When that ad came out last year, everyone thought it was a viral video for a new Ghostbusters. Or some other movie.

But no, it's a real vodka.

I just re-discovered one of my 13-year-old-self's favorite songs.

God, this is going to be stuck in my head for a week.

    Damn you!

Around that time I was addicted to Just A Little More Love by David Guetta.

That song is forever associated with the first trailers for Spider-Man for me.

A couple weeks ago, Vitamin C's Smile jumped out of my senior year of high school and into 2009 with a vengeance, getting stuck in my head. Then I found the song on YouTube and listened to it and it somehow actually, like, made my day better.

Dispute over dog peeing in house leads to shooting deaths of three Pittsburgh police officers.

The shooter - who shot and killed three police officers on-sight and attempted to shoot 9 others - is in custody.

I foresee this man spending a lot of time in dark, windowless rooms with 3-4 cops and all the security cameras mysteriously clicked off.

Can anyone tell me why I find this photo looks so particularly strange? What kind of lens was used here? It can't just be the angle.

Discovery might be my favorite album of all time. Nothing wrong with One More Time being stuck in your head for a week. Hell I hope it stays in your head for a year.

I've been working in this mental health clinic for about six months and I've gotten used to mentally ill people. But today was the first time I was really surprised and alarmed by the illness of a patient-- she was actively psychotic during our meeting. From a writer's perspective (or, I guess, a student of human behavior) I was fascinated, but from a self-preservation standpoint I was quite nervous.

Part of me wanted to get close enough to really observe her behavior (which I also knew would provoke additional behavior) but part of me wanted to really hang back out of range.
    ...and the milk's in me.

The embedded EXIF info wasn't saved, but the distortion is consistent with a wide angle lens, my guess would be at about 10 to 12mm, and at very close range. My Sigma 10-20 creates similar distortions but this is most likely from a full frame camera (which is why it looks particularly strange), so it's either Canon 11-22, Nikon 12-24, or a Tokina 11-16...

I'm pretty sure that's EvilShoe when he was younger. You can ask him for the full video. I'm sure he has a few copies.

Could you send me a link to the whole video, with sound?

    Thanks!

I don't want to tell you how to do your thing here D, but that's not nearly gracious enough for EvilShoe to take you seriously. Trust me, I know him pretty well. He's kind of a dick. It's going to take much more ass-kissing.

    Thanks, [ETM].

Also, since we're discussing the origin of GIFs, I wouldn't mind knowing where this one comes from:

    Dear Evilshoe,

That video of you and that other kid getting down is totally awesome. Every time I view it, my heart explodes with happiness, and tears of joy stream down my face. I especially like the part towards the end of the loop when the kid in the red shirt (you? I hope!), breaks out into one of the most uplifting dance numbers my eyes have ever seen.

This is, without a doubt, a bona fide masterpiece of the animated-gif genre.

If you could find it in your heart to provide the original source for this awe-inspiring work of creative genius, I would be eternally grateful.

    Yours truly,

    d.
