So does Stevie Wonder get a bit of a pass for playing with the Jonas Brothers because he's blind?
Now reading: The Master Switch by Tim Wu
Seriously, I know it's the cool thing to make fun of the Jonas Brothers, but I really couldn't believe how bad they were. That's the first time I've heard them sing, and I figured they'd at least have nice voices to go along with those neckerchiefs, but they were abysmal. It was whiny screaming. My jaw was on the floor.Quoting Benny Profane (view post)
Didn't see the Grammys, but I heard MIA was strange. What happened?
Hmmm. Is it worth it to pay $40 to see The Smothers Brothers live? I love them, and last time I missed seeing them I kicked myself for a week.
But $40 seems steep (and that's a discounted ticket... they're supposed to be $70.)

She was extremely pregnant, but I didn't find her any more strange than she is on a regular basis (I'm a huge fan, btw).Quoting Ezee E (view post)

When I was young, my mom was driving us somewhere and, just as we were about to leave our neighborhood, I saw a sign on a post that talked about a chocolate lab. I off-handedly mentioned that my mom should get a part-time job there so she could bring home samples...

HAHAHAHAHA! MOCK, MOCK, MOCK!
No, really, I'm pretty sure I was confused the first time I saw "chocolate lab" mentioned in a book.

You can rest assured I was mortified.Quoting Mara (view post)

Does neg rep appear in the User CP? Because I'm missing a point but there's no indication as to why on my control panel.

Does that help?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Aw, thanks, Meg!Quoting megladon8 (view post)
Still, if I was neg-repped, I want to know about what I can do to provide the posters of this board with a better Sycophant experience.
Quoting Sycophant (view post)
Hmm...I got neg rep twice I think, and both times it showed on my User CP as a little red dot, instead of a green one.
Could it be a site glitch or something?

Maybe someone who repped you once was banned.

My god, I'm kind of appalled by magazines targetted towards teenage girls.
I was just in the bathroom and needed some reading material. There was nothing in the little magazine holder in there except for one of my sister's issues of "Seventeen", so I decided I'd just flip through it.
Now, am I wrong in thinking that a magazine called "Seventeen" is targeting teenage girls?
There's a full 2-page spread called "Getting to know his body (and how to get him off)", and it's where girls can write in questions about the male body and sex and have them answered. Questions to appear in this spread included...
-What does cum taste like?
-Can it hurt him if I get him aroused but don't finish him off?
-What does a blowjob feel like for a guy?
In "Seventeen"??? REALLY??
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
This is an important question for teenage girls to know the answer to, because teenage boys like to tell girls that if they're aroused and don't have sex it will put them in some kind of medical jeopardy.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

I'll give you that one, but I am just really surprised that a magazine aimed at this age group would have such explicit material.
There's even a one-page article called "Having better sex".
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
That is pretty appalling, especially since the title is misleading, and (at least when I was young) nobody over 15 would be caught dead reading it.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

Er, I like to think that teenagers are being taught as much as possible about sex. Sexual curiosity is dangerous if you ignore/shelter it.
So, yah, I think it's important for teen mags to have sex articles.

Exactly. I thought this was one of those magazines for girls who are 13, 14, 15. It's like R-rated movies...yes, they're R-rated, but the marketing is still targeting teenagers.
I suppose you could defend it by saying "well, they're going to have sex anyways so we might as well let them be properly informed"...but the stuff I was reading was borderline vulgar.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

But I don't think "what does cum taste like?" is exactly educational information...

Speaking of teenage girls, on Saturday some friends were telling me what happens in the later Twilight books.
What the fucking fuck is wrong with Stephenie Meyer?
Well if the curiosity is what's going to push the teenage girl in question into "Well, I gotta try it just to find out" then maybe it is.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
I really have nothing meaningful to say here.
What? Specifically?Quoting Sycophant (view post)
...and the milk's in me.
Sure it is. Why wouldn't it be? Blowjobs are common sexual practice and it's one of the questions that come up at one point or another. There are a lot of young girls who are asking that question and they want some kind of answer. Some of them would get the answer by practicing unsafely.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
The more explicit sexuality is discussed, the less misinformation would lead to kids doing stupid shit.
