One of the classes I may be taking next semester (if they don't boot me out because of grades) will be on Terrorism. Should be interesting. That said, I've taken most of the classes required for my political science major, and thus I'm spending the rest of my college days taking electives. Some which have been in political science, but honestly most of them feel rather pointless. And I highly doubt I'm going to grade school, but I have a sinking feeling I'll need it.

Near the end of my years at college, my advisor said, "Ok, lets talk grad schools." My response, "Fuck that."You're aware that grades are a vital component for graduate school, Madman, no? Of course, its different with a biochem major then a poli sci major.

I wouldn't say that, as I love politics. But maybe I should have gone into history instead. I donno. After finishing two years of community college I wanted to take a year off, but my parents suggested I transfer to a four year school. So I did. Mainly because I think they would have ended up being right about me not going back to school had I taken time off.

- Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (w/ concentration in Addictions & Substance Abuse)
I'm not too enthusiastic about moving to another city just yet. Plus, this requires asking my boss for a letter of recommendation, and we currently have an iffy professional relationship.

So...
...I'm invited to two parties tonight. One's for my buddy Kunal's birthday, and the other's for my Iowa friends who live out here in CA. Haven't seen either in a while. I'm nursing a hangover from last night, so I don't plan on staying out for more than, say, two hours.
...so I drive to Kunal's party, park at a grocery store, walk the block over there, see that there's no line at the door (nice!), and then the bouncer stops me. "Can I help you?" I reply that I'm just here to visit some friends. He looks me over and says that I'm not getting in...they have a dress code.
...I'm wearing a white t-shirt, and jeans. My friend pops out, and the bouncer goes over my outfit like I'm a fashion victim (or one of those middle-class people). So that kind of brings me down. I hug my buddy, and head out...I got another party to go to.
...but when I get back to my car, it doesn't start. Terrific. I call up my roommate, but he's at the bar, inebriated. He has no business driving. So I call roadside assistance. They say it will take an hour. It almost takes two. I take time out from sipping Sprite and nodding off in a Ralph's parking lot to call my Iowa buddies and tell them I can't make it.
...the guy finally shows up, looks at the car, and as we get the cables hooked up, it starts raining. In Los Angeles. Considering my night, this is the next logical step. After about ten minutes, the rain subsides just as I get in my car, and I'm on the road, driving home.
...so I'm home now, playing Resident Evil 4, drinking water, still nursing a hangover, and thinking about how my insurance policy works, I have friends from Iowa I can depend on, I got to see my friend on his birthday anyway, and that if I can afford Resident Evil 4 and an internet connection in SoCal, I have little to bitch about.
...but it can be cathartic.
The gf is watching a Harry Potter movie in the other room and I can't help but think that Doctor Strange would totally kick Voldemort's ass.
I was going on and on a while back about Dagny Knutson breaking multiple national high school records at our state meet (in the pool my daughters swim in every day). Two days ago, she broke Katie Hoff's American record in the 400y IM. Here's a clip if interested:

I just saw one of the most despicable things I've ever seen. On the news, during a report on the auto industry bailout, they showed a church in Detroit that had SUVs up on alters and the choir and pastor were dancing and singing around the SUV praying for a bailout.
So lets see...false idols, materialism, blasphemy, a blatant disregard for the environment....

A truly disgusting individual was fired from my work last week, and he's had the same office for 10+ years. He was dirty and gross and pretty nutso. He took a couple personal items with him when he left, but left the majority of the room alone.
I have been given the job of cleaning out his office (going through papers, etc.) I'm not supposed to be doing the actual spray-and-wipe part of the cleaning, because our janitor will handle that when I'm done.
In the meantime, however, I'm dealing with some really revolting biological debris. I'll open a folder and out will fall dust that could be dandruff, or skin, or food particles, or paper. I swear I have found wiped snot on at least a dozen folders and binders. There are food and drink stains on everything. On his chair, there's an outline where his butt was, and then outside that is... something. Something white and powdery.
I don't think I will ever eat again.
My GF congratulated her on her husband's election victory. She replied Thank You or words to that effect and they held hands. A couple of Secret Service men were about. More details would compromise US security...
