In one of my all-time favorite books, the heroine asks the hero to marry her. It's been a secret dream of mine ever since. I think I'd do well in a society where these particular rules were flip-flopped.
As an added bonus, in a world like that there I wouldn't have to deal with men who don't take the hint from being ignored (see response to Benny, above.) I had a really nasty situation last week with a man who-- I kid you not --is 60 years old and would not leave me alone. Embarassingly enough, eventually both my father and a male leader from my church had to step in and tell him to back off. It was awful.
