    The European Football Thread

    No one started one yet?

Anyway, the Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea is going on right now. Score is 1-1 at the moment.

And in about two weeks the European Football Championship will be held in Austria and Switzerland. Besides the Tour de France and the Olympics, this is going to be a pretty big event. it won't be as huge as the World Cup championship was a couple years ago, but I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun as well. I've included a list with all the matches. All matches are played in the GMT+1 timezone.

Please, please let Manchester Utd lose this one. Ronaldo and his diving self need to be taken down a notch.

Besides, this is a home game for Chelski. They should be favored.

What, what, what? Ronaldo hasn't been diving much this season? How about that ugly person, Drogba? He needs to stop playing soccer.

Christiano Ronaldo has been amazing this match.

EDIT: And no, I'm not a Manchester United fan.

He's one of the best on the planet for sure. But he's a still a flopper.

I'm only following the Gamecast online. I'll have to watch the actual replay tonight.

A flopper? Is that the same thing as a diver? Because I would have agreed about a season ago, but he's been brillant this season, pretty much without diving - and I respect that a lot. If there's one thing I hate, it's diving.

And I feel bad for John Terry. Him and Lampard are the two Chealsea players I like. Also Drogba's red card made me cream my pants.

Me too. Terry looked broken after the match. That was sad.

Ronaldo's penalty was shit though. What happened there? Did he blackout or something?

I'll be watching. No Belgium means no real rooting interest, but I'll still tune in.

Terry slips on the winning PK. Reds take it. Gross.

Real Madrid/Barcelona Copa Del Ray match is on for those interested. I don't care about La Liga at all, but these games are about as exciting as any soccer game can get. The end of the first half was awesome.

How the heck does a team like Cardiff get to the Carling Cup Finals? And is it fair for anyone to root for Liverpool to win?

Yeah, I don't like Real Madrid at all for their cheapness and crying. I also don't like Barcelona because they're too freakin' talented.

    Transfer Window Deadline Day!

It looks like Spurs have added Louis Saha from Everton.

Um...why? I know they need a striker, but Saha, by all accounts, is on the downside of his career and has been injury prone as of late.

    Thoughts?

Bale stretchered off in the final minute. Season over.

Please tell me I wasn't the only one who saw the end of that Dortmund/Malaga match! Tops Man City's last minute league winner last year. Unbelievable.

Madness. The Real match got somewhat interesting in the second half as well.

I was going to watch the Dortmund game, but lost my tv signal five minutes before the match started. I'm pretty pissed now.

LOL Barcelona when Messi isn't playing.

Won't surprise me if they add Neymar next season or seek out a new striker. They're all fabulous passers though.

Anyone going to watch the Confederations Cup? Group A alone makes it worth watching for the initial round:

    Mexico
    Brazil
    Italy
    Japan.
    Wow!

Group 2 is a little more disappointing.
    Spain
    Uruguay
    Tahiti
    Nigeria

I think this might be Spain's last hurrah.
