It's about wining and losing. its so simple I dont need to think. If I didn't win, I'm not the best.
Does this only apply to quarterbacks? Or does it also apply to right tackles?

Rodgers 1? Shouldn't it be Wilson?
Rodgers doesn't have the defense that came with Wilson. I should probably move Russell to #2 though.

Call me old fashioned but I care more about who the best RB of all time is instead of the top overall QB. Anyways my #1 QB ever is still Joe Montana and that's never going to change. RB wise it would be currently Walter Payton, which pains me to say as I hate the Bears. But I respect Payton.

RBs are even tougher because you have to look at offensive lines. I'm pretty sure nobody comes close to Barry Sanders though. I do wonder what Terrell Davis would've been like if he didn't have those injuries.

Can we as a community immediately discredit anyone who even remotely thinks that Russell Wilson is a better QB right now than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees and ban them from posting any sports-related opinions until they confess their lunacy?

Manning, Rodgers, Brady, and Brees are still the top-4 in some order.

Wilson is tier 2 with Rivers, Luck, and Ryan. If you look at all of the QB metrics besides total passing yards (most overrated stat ever), he is elite in every category (YPA, CMP%, TD/INT, RAT, etc.). People forget that Gruden declared him an MVP candidate late in the season before a bunch of tough division games slowed him down. His numbers dipped in the first two playoff games, but he was up against 30 MPH winds (vs. NO) and the San Francisco defense. I thought he played a basically flawless game in the Super Bowl, but it was overshadowed because he didn't need to do much.

He's on a tier by himself. Never seen anyone do what he did.

And when you consider the poor quarterback play on almost every team he was a part of, as well as his usually shaky offensive line, it's even more impressive. I've never been in awe of an athlete like I constantly was with Barry Sanders.

I forgot about Luck. But I don't think he's better then Wilson/Kaepernick anyways.

He ran for 2000 yards on a team with SCOTT MITCHELL AS QUARTERBACK!

By the way, records be damned, there's no way that a Jerry Rice (6'2, 4.71) compares to a Calvin Johnson (6'5", 4.32).

Yeah, I was always a Broncos fan growing up and even I had a Barry Sanders poster in my room. The jukes and spin moves he pulled off on a consistent basis can't even be replicated in the Madden games and his balance was inhuman and his QBs and O lines were never anything above average (and more often than not below). Best ever, no question.

As for Wilson, there's no way he's top 4 in the league. In the 6 games leading up to the Super Bowl, he threw for 5 TDs, 3 INT. He's an important part of the team, but they got to the big game on the back of Lynch and their defense. He's a great young talent though and played a hell of a game in the Super Bowl (although who on Seattle didn't?) but he's not a top tier guy yet.

Not much to say about the Super Bowl. It was a good ole fashioned ass-kicking. I never thought I'd have to suffer through anything as brutal as the 35 pt. quarter against the Redskins or the 55-10 blowout against the Niners, but this may have been the worst of the three. Of course, it's a lot easier to take when you don't have to go to a middle school filled with vicious Eagles fans the day after the game.

Barry Sanders is a close second. Maybe he's my #1. Eh...its tough. Jim Brown is in the conversation as well.

His numbers definitely slid at the end of the year, but I think you have to consider the defenses he played in those games. It was San Francisco (#5 DEF), Arizona (#6 DEF), NYG (#8 DEF), St. Louis (#15 DEF), New Orleans (#4 DEF) and San Francisco again. That's a murderer's row of defenses. Also, the second New Orleans game was a crazy wind/rain game in which Brees had like 30 yards passing in the first half.

That being said, he has a long way to go before approaching the top-4. I absolutely think he's in that upper second tier with Luck, though.

Agreed. Imagine if you were a marathoner, and had to start 5 miles behind everyone else, yet still always managed to come in first place. That was Barry Sanders.

Another guy whom I wonder just what he could have done were it not for injuries is Bo Jackson.

Browns blown up. Banner/Lombardi OUT, Farmer/Shiner IN. WOW. My first reaction is to breathe a sigh of releif about the draft.

I'm optimistic that no future regime will be so short-sighted that they make a player of Brandon Weeden's caliber a first round pick. Still love how Haslem essentially triples down on demanding progress by giving no one time to develop, even if Lombardi was a horrible choice.

I'd love for them to take Watkins with their #4 and wait for a QB. Though as I think about it, what's the difference between him and Julio Jones, since the haul they gained from Atlanta turned out so indifferently...

I want one of those top three QBs, period. Too many drafts wasted on hoping on a late round or later round sleeper. Just go get a top guy.
