Sean Taylor Suspects Tied to Previous Break-in

Well there's a shock. Seriously, the fact that it took the police this long to admit/figure out that the two events were connected is nearly as embarrassing as the Dolphins season. They need to go ahead and change that "unpremeditated" charge.

Green Bay cruised today and Brett Farve is once again the Iron Man. Wahoo. I hate the Raiders and I actually want a shutout. Oh well.

I love the Dolphins now because they made the Bills offense look amazing today. 38 points + the Fish still being winless=priceless. Plus Buffalo is still in the playoff hunt which is awesome.

God I hate the fucking Donkeys. I knew the bastards were going to win today but at least KC could put up more of a fight. God the Chiefs suck this season.

So far things are pretty close between the Pats and the Steelers. Both have had chances to blow this wide open but neither have been able to really capitalize on some mistakes by both sides.

On one hand I wanted Dallas to win because I picked them to win in Icine pick 'ems. But on the other hand if they had lost to the Lions I would have made some rather, um, nasty and snarky comments to a friend of mine who's a life long Cowboys fan. I still might talk shit though since the game was so unbelievably close.

My chance at an undefeated fantasy football season has ended at the hands of the last place team and Jay Cutler.

Disgusting. At least it didn't happen in the playoffs I guess.

Vick Gets 23 Months in Prison

That's nearly double with the prosecution suggested. That's very surprising.

He lost everything he had as far as money and career goes, he's been publicly shamed and humiliated by the entire world, has the herp, and now gets twice the recommended sentence? I have no love for or need to defend animal abusers, but I think maybe his punishment exceeds the crime by a bit.
[District Judge Henry E.] Hudson responded, "You need to apologize to the millions of young people who looked up to you."

Nah. He won't serve the entire sentence. He'll be out on good behavior in enough time to make a team in 2009. They were talking about it on ESPN, and saying that they don't think he'll play QB again, but that he has enough athletic ability to be a return specialist/WR upon his return. He's going to need money, so I doubt very much that he won't try out, and someone will probably give him a contract based on his upside.

That's assuming he's reinstated by the league, since a ban is obviously coming at some point.

I just heard on the radio that he is required to serve 80-85% of his sentence and then could do the rest in a halfway house.

If he does 80%, that puts him at 18 months (because he went to jail voluntarily in November), which would get him out of jail in May. Obviously if he has to join a halfway house, that's the end of the 2009 season for him, but if they let him just go straight to probation, he'd be out in time for training camps. I'd be pretty surprised, even if it's not until 2010, if he doesn't try out for a team after his release.

I think he has the skills to be a decent RB as well. Anyways I think the NFL will do quite a bit to keep him out the league while glossing over how quickly Ray Lewis was allowed back in among others....

My dad won tickets and pregame field passes to the Bengals game Sunday, so me and my brother were there in the cold rain yesterday. Here's some of the pics.

Chad Johnson messing with a camera guy.

Carson Palmer warming up with Rudi Johnson in the background

Coach Marvin Lewis watching the recievers dropping balls like 6 feet away

We weren't allowed to interact with players, coaches, media, cheerleaders, etc. So no autographs or whatnot. We were on the field for about an hr and a half and were herded off immediately after the opening kickoff. It was a lot of fun, but could have been more exciting had the game been more meaningful and it wasn't so cold and wet!

How is Vick at catching the ball? I've only known him as a QB. He could easily lose his speed in jail which is what makes him valuable. He's done.

Did anyone read this? I think Vick deserves his jail time, but this completely ridiculous by the NFL. They are way too crazy handing out fines.

I can picture the idealized league that the NFL has in mind. It's not one that I'd want to watch.

Bobby Petrino resigned as Atlanta's football coach and is reportedly going to be the next Arkansas head coach.

It's probably a smart move, as they have no future next season either, and he'd probably be dismissed by the time they began to improve again, but it feels kind of slimy. Packing things up when you haven't even completed one full season of your contract?

In other news, unless the 49ers win one more game, the Patriots are getting Darren McFadden.

He's doing the same thing Lou Holtz did in the 70s (only Holtz left the Jets), and he can now be included in the same category of "Coaches who leave NFL teams to go back to college when those teams are heading into the shitter" along with Nick Sabin. I guess he didn't want to stick around for the 5 year rebuilding process that will be going on with the Falcons.

If Bellicheck feels that Malroney isn't up to the task of being the featured back then the Patriots will defiantly take McFadden if the 49ers never win another game this season. I think if that isn't the case though then the Pats may make some deals with that pick to try and get something else. That's if the 49ers continue losing though.

I do hope to God that the mock draft is right about KC taking an OT. The Chiefs need to build the offensive line back up ASAP to have any hopes of protecting whoever they decide to have as the starting QB next season, and to help out Kolby Smith and a recovering LJ as well. I'm hoping that the Packers get who that mock draft projects them to get: Rashard Mendenhall, who is a beast.

I'm not convinced that the Pats will take McFadden. They just drafted Maroney two drafts ago, and he showed flashes of brilliance last season. This season they haven't needed him at all because their passing game is immaculate. However, their defense has shown major weaknesses, and it's only getting older. I think they'll trade down, but if they don't they'd take Chris Long or Laurenaitis before McFadden. Plus he may not even be on the board. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miami take him.

If that happens I won't know what to think. Mendenhall is great, but I hate the Illini.

For a minute there I forgot that you were a SIU fan. Me I put aside such issues if that means an NFL team I love will get a great player in the draft. If the Chiefs were to get a talented USC player I wouldn't mind in the least provided he could do great things for KC. When it comes to the draft and the NFL who they played for in college means nothing to me. Its what they did in college and if they're ready for the NFL that is all that should, and does matter.

The Patriots are in the best position to trade the pick down for more picks and go for defense to become even more unstoppable next season. I see no reason that they'd take McFadden.

I'm of the opposite mind. I think they're in the ideal position to take the best available player regardless of need. Rebuilding teams needs more picks, they don't.

I really really hope McFadden makes it to the Jets but we'll probably end up at #4-5 and have zero chance at him.

Their linebackers are all pretty old. In three seasons they'll be in serious trouble there.

Actually, I believe the Patriots are drafting the Panasonic AJ-HPX3000 for their first pick. It is said to give them the clearest images.
