Is there any doubt he will end up on the Raiders? Not only because Crazy Al takes a chance on these characters, but he fits in philosophically with the offense: strong arm, vertical passing game, throw it deep and strike quickly.

I thought it was criminal to have someone with his skill-set in the west coast offense.
It's the Raiders or the Bengals. That's my guess.

I watched NFL Live a couple days ago for both research and entertainment purposes. Of the 30 minutes of programming about 6 were commercials.

Literally, the entire episode was about:

    1) Will Favre come back to play?
    2) Vick is "vaguely" reinstated by the commish
    3) The DA wants Burress to get jail time
    4) Who would be the best team for Vick to go to?

Of 32 teams, all they talked about were 3 players who are actually NOT on any of those teams. Rather than do ANY analysis about which players will fit into which systems best, which will struggle, what are true strengths and weaknesses, instead, ESPN talks about 3 players that are currently not on any team roster.

    Buttholes.

Got my 2009 Jets season tickets in the mail yesterday, lower bowl on the 10 yard line.

2 weeks until the first preseason game and I'm ridiculously excited.

Vick going to the Browns would be the funniest thing ever, considering their mascot is a dog.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

The entire AFC East has a ridiculously tough schedule this year. With a rookie QB and new head coach, I'd be thrilled with a .500 record.

I actually don't think you guys will come in last. Buffalo will.

Miami will come in 2nd to last. Last year was a fluke.

Eli Manning is the highest paid player in the NFL.

    Let that simmer for awhile.

Obviously he's overpaid but it's not like the Giants had any choice in the matter. When Matt Stafford is getting 70m w/41m guaranteed, it's tough to argue that the face of the Giants franchise and their Super Bowl MVP doesn't deserve his contract. If they didn't give it to him, someone else would.

He should give about $80mil of that contract to David Tyree.

What do you guys think of this Michael Crabtree fiasco?

Pretty ridiculous to say the least, and another reason why the NFL Rookie contracts needs to be revised. On top of how it led to Stafford's ridiculous contract.

Agreed. Rookie contracts are out of control, and some sort of sanity needs to be applied.

Oh and the Giants overpayed for Manning just like the Panthers overpayed for Delhomme. Only one has a Super Bowl ring, I suppose.

Has to be a desperate ploy, since he will lose a lot more money by sitting out a year. Also, this is not from his agent. This is from his cousin who is his "adviser".

First thought that went through my mind. Do you really think by sitting out a year you'll be a higher draft pick and get more guaranteed money? Ridiculous. Plus teams will think you're going to be a difficult negotiation, so that will make you drop even further.

But I'm glad this is happening, because it's just the type of situation that's going to force the league to put in place a rookie pay scale.

I will say in Crabtree's defense that 6 of the top 10 picks are not signed yet, and since the money for each pick is slotted based on the amount the guy drafted ahead of him got, then the fact that he's held out this long is not surprising. It's his threat to sit out a year that is certifiably insane, though it's likely just a threat.

Sure, a hold out is no big deal. Happens every year. But to say openly that you should have gone three picks higher if Oakland wasn't stupid, and that you're better than Heyward-Bey and you aren't signing unless your contract is larger than his (no matter how true all of those things might be), and that you're willing to sit out and be redrafted... seriously, fuck off. Like I said, this is extra motivation for the league to install a rookie pay scale, so really all he's going to accomplish with this stance is to fuck over future rookies.

The NFL needs another whiny bitch wideout. The rookie scale is second priority.

Mangini caught hell before the draft when he said he wasn't interested in Crabtree at #5 because he came across as a diva with his 10 person entourage. Looks like he was spot on.

Makes me glad Sanchez said on Draft Day, "There will be no holdout" and aside from Stafford's pre-draft deal, he was the first to sign.

He served his time, so I see no problem with him getting back in the NFL. The Eagles are really a great fit for him too I would think.
