    2023 Movies

Since there is no forum for them, feel free to post the ones you saw and liked here. I mean the site is dead and no one's around, but post here anyways. I think my favorite movie of 2023 currently as the year comes to a close is Across the Spider-Verse. Glad I saw it in theaters, which may as well be on life support.

Yeah, I've been mostly going to the university's theater, which airs mostly classic and foreign films (not that I'm complaining, I've been able to watch some amazing films on the big screen, F.E. White Heat last Friday) for free.

Ooh, very nice. White Heat is a classic. Wish I lived in a city that had a university theater, the nearest one is in Iowa City.

Godzilla Minus One was excellent in every way. There are scenes that actually scared or thrilled me, and others that moved me to an emotional level that I don't think any of the other Godzilla movies have done. Pure cinema.

Saw my first 2023 movie, The Killer. Fincher's direction is precise as always, but I don't see what attracted him to this generic and unremarkable story. His thus far perfect streak of good movie-not so good movie is finally broken as Mank wasn't too good either.

I really enjoyed The Killer. You're right, it does wander, but I saw that more as a story issue than a directing issue. I haven't seen the original film its based on though.

I did like Mank, but yeah that one was merely solid/good at best. I'll give The Killer a chance, though.
