    Kinda late, but the main reason I don't care for the first two Evil Dead films is that there seems to be no internal logic or consistency to them. For example, in the first movie, the demons or whatever are already manifesting themselves before the tapes are even played, which is supposedly what should trigger them. In general, there's no notion of when, how or why they're able to possess things or people, doing so randomly whenever a scare or a laugh is required. The third one is more consistent but not that funny overall.
