Tell me if I'm wrong, but Jane Campion joins Mike Nichols (The Graduate) as the only two directors that won for Best Director, and their film had zero other wins.

Coda is the first since Grand Hotel (1933?) to win Best Picture without a Director and/or Editing nomination.

DeBose, I believe, is the first actress to win an Oscar for a remake where the actresss won an Oscar for the same character.
All interesting stats. I forgot that Nichols won an Oscar for The Graduate. Also I was glad that DeBose won-she was great in WSS. I really need to see Grand Hotel.

    But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up

    Worst Oscar telecast ever.
Yep. It manged to be even worse than the one Seth MacFarlane hosted. Last year's wasn't good either but at least they showed all the awards.

Speeches last year made the show enjoyable, for better or worse. The first hour of this was so rushed for no reason. And all the edited-in award winners clearly had their moments trimmed. Despicable.

And editing in fake reactions from people that were definitely on the red carpet when the presentation actually occurred. Just a really weird choice.

That's true. The speeches are one of the main reasons to watch. Bad call on the Academy's part.

Feels like a gross overreaction to me. 2-5 at most but 10? For a slap? I mean he shouldn't have hit Chris Rock but Rock shouldn't have made that bad joke. It is what it is, I guess.

I would've been fine with it... just so long as they at least banned Rock from hosting the Oscars for the same amount of time, heh.

That would have been fair but I doubt they'll ever let him host again anyways.
