Solid if somewhat safe family film. Visually is still worth the price of admission and the trip to the theater if it's still there. Really enjoyed the family dynamics although several of the characters felt more defined by their gimmicks than anything else. Mid tier Disney, maybe?

I liked it, tho owing to the nature of LMM's lyrical style and the accents, some of the songs are a bit hard to parse, even while you basically get the gist of their meaning. Certainly a vibrant feast visually. While I like the variety in the ensemble, it does give short shrift to several characters. But the story's direct and the family has real warmth. I liked that Mirabel helped her sisters discover the freedom from the weight of their seemingly blessed gifts. Also, and this is really unimportant, but it seems like giving a fifteen-year-old boy the power to turn into anyone would lead to him never coming out of his room, cough, but this goes unremarked-upon. Overall, it's...nice.

The Serbian translations of songs are terrible. It's so dense that they had to do plays on words that make it absolutely unintelligible.

Pretty solid flick overall. The "We Don't Talk About Bruno" song was fun. I think the lack of a villain was refreshing, honestly. More later whenever I get around to it.

    And it's happened once again
    I'll turn to a friend
    Someone that understands
And sees through the master plan
    But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up

Nothing revolutionary but I imagine kids must have their minds blown by all the inventive magic and animation. I watched the English language version since I'm living in the US now but I'd be curious about the Spanish dub for this particular movie. Best song was the strong woman's.
