Yeah, so communist to think that if you work you should be able to survive.

The myth of the "minimum wage burger flipper" is just that. A myth. This is not the 70s anymore. There are no "stand at a flat top grill and flip the patties every 2 minutes" job.

People with the mindset that "you didn't need an education for this job, so you deserve to lick my boot" are scum.

American minimum wage has not changed federally since 2010. $7.25. So, at 40 hours per week that's less than $1200.00 per month, gross. Then people are like: get more education of you want X job. Then, they say one must have experience. The most galling thing is an entry level job that requires experience. How dafuq that supposed to happen? It's almost like corporations and companies don't care... this can't be the case, obviously, because Ronald Reagan assured us otherwise three decades ago.

I genuinely don't understand people who don't want others to have it good, even when it means they don't lose any of their own luxuries. Or, better yet, even if it means they get even more.

It's selfish, greedy, and freaking gross.

It's actually much more complicated than just 'we dont want people to have more money'.

Even in high school I didn't make minimum wage, with zero experience. The only time I ever made minimum wage was in retail (as a second job) because it takes zero brain cells to do that job so why would it pay any higher?

I have formal HR training and a certificate for it.

I make a very, very small amount more than minimum wage.

I know it has already been meme'd to death, but having to enter all your resume info 2-3 times then attach your resume anyways is maddening.

Questions like "why are you applying to work here?", "what is your greatest weakness?", "tell me about a time you had to confront another employee over something they did that you felt was immoral or wrong".

What? This job pays minimum wage and you're going to give me 10 hours a week. You should be happy that I have a pulse, and that's about it.

Well eventually they'll just turn everything over to robots and then everyone is in trouble. Also yeah they should raise the minimum wage. It should have been raised years ago. 15 isn't even a living wage anymore.

It's so abundantly clear from these threads that Duke is in a different tax bracket from the vast majority of everyone else on match cut. I'm a far left socialist when it comes to economics, but I also think the culture wars and woke capitalism are giant shiny objects meant to prevent people from thinking too much about class issues. I would recommend listening to Sagaar and Krystal Ball on Joe Rogan (the one that came out about a week ago). They go deep into these types of issues. Shit is bleak. Unattainable home ownership (that horrible company BlackRock or whatever their fuckin' name is buying up houses across the country), low marriage rates, lower birth rates than we've ever had since records have been taken, student loan debt, we can't even raise minimum wage to $15.00 in 2025 (how the law is written that was shot down) let alone 2021. By 2025 minimum wage should be even higher than $15.00 but apparently that ain't happening.

Like someone said previous in the thread, the most interesting class based thing to occur in America lately is people making more money on unemployment than their "essential" jobs. Now there is a hiring crunch but people are seriously surprised people aren't clamoring for some shit job at Wendy's or Mickey Dees for like $12.00 an hour? WEW.

I also wonder if we'll finally reach a breaking point once the boomers start dying en masse. My parents are perfect examples of this. They are Trump hating, MSNBC loving "lefties" but they are also aggressive neoliberals that love Amazon, fast food (Taco Bell), boring corporate restaurant chains (Applebees), and seem to care less how they get their made in China garbage or burrito supremes, and get pissy when there is a long line at the drive thu or their crapola takes longer than three days to be delivered. Depressing.

I don't know that I would say that from his comments (maybe from some house pictures lol). There are plenty of people where I live that are poorer than me by a big stretch and they would agree with Duke. I don't know that the tax bracket is all out indicator of a person's ideas/beliefs.

Yeah; it's more like most workers don't have a choice but ​to participate in that system, despite its exploitative nature, because it's literally the only thing they can do to survive.

In my experience it is people who don't work at all who love the oppressive system - whether it is due to independent wealth, or poverty.
