Has Joe Wright done anything worth watching twice? Pride and Prejudice did not need to exist. Atonement is entirely forgettable. He's just some by-the-numbers director being pushed on us.
....is completely wasted. Moore has one scene (she's very good in it, but still), Mackie has one scene, JJL says around 10 words in total, Oldman has one nice shouty bit, but otherwise turns up 3 or 4 times to look annoyed and that's the extent of his character.....Quoting quido8_5 (view post)

I just watched drag queens Trixie And Katya watch and comment on this and now I think it might be better than watching the film itself.
I thought Pride and Prejudice and Atonement were both very good. Visually lush.Quoting Yxklyx (view post)
He has a good eye.
He has just done a terrible job choosing scripts over the last decade.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."

if you have to ask...
Its a very ridiculous movie when it gets going. Before that... well... Amy is suffering. She's pretty good in this part (I'm usually not a fan), wallowing and being scared shitless of being outside. Her house isn't a safe place either. I recommend it because it does fill that void of the psycho thriller genre that has been missing for years in mainstream cinema. BUT for the actual conclusion... don't say I didn't warn you.
