Started strong, but second half deteriorated into complete unbelievable nonsense.

Yeah. This feels unlike anything Taylor Sheridan has done before, or maybe was an early story of his. It's pretty bad.

Which is a bummer, because it's not like there's many original action-ish movies that have a star in the lead and aren't franchise-driven.

Turns out I haven't seen a Jolie movie since Changeling in 2008.

Although I feel like I may have seen bits of By the Sea, but can't recollect a single scene from it.

Average action thriller material. Needed more Angelina backstory, though I’m glad it didn’t feature her grieving a relationship- there aren’t a lot of surprises but it’s mostly satisfying.

This film takes a while to get going and the script is very generic and familiar, but Taylor Sheridan’s latest has an unnerving tone throughout and phenomenal performances from its cast, which range from Angelina Jolie’s quiet and contemplative turn as a firefighter coping with tragedy to Iain Glen’s tense role as a monstrous hitman. As director, Sheridan crafts a tight thriller and celebrates those who fight wildfires with direction that’s powerful in its nuances. It's solid all the way around in my opinion.
