Warm and wistful, with a central uncle-nephew relationship that sees the two actors have lived-in, lovely chemistry together, even if the kid's writing veers into overly precious at times for my taste. But the story strand at this film's edges featuring Gaby Hoffman and Scoot McNairy (the former especially terrific) feels so comparatively, effortlessly vivid given their screentime that I want the film to be half about them as well. 7/10
