So, StudioCanal tagged my New Gladiators video with a Copyright claim. Usually I can dispute these and they'll let it go, but StudioCanal has denied my dispute. They appear to own the rights in France. So, now I'm debating whether to:

    1. Edit the video and remove the imagery from the section they claimed to own, replacing it with, "This section was flagged in a Copyright claim by StudioCanal," or some such potentially spiteful/childish response.
    2. Leave my video as-is and see what the repercussions are.

I'm leaning toward 2, because in all the documentation I've read, it won't become a Copyright Strike unless the claimant actually files a take-down notice. Otherwise, it stays up and they collect whatever ad revenue is generated by the video. (In this case, it would probably be somewhere around 0, if not 0.) It also means that ads may appear on the video in certain parts of the world, which I don't particularly like, but it still seems better than my other options.

Edit: Oh, I can also appeal the denial, but that requires me to give StudioCanal my full name and address, which is not going to happen. That part of this whole process truly is borked.

Likely there will be zero repercussions and they will just collect the revenue from the video ads.

Or your video will be blocked in France only.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Watched my new movie last night. Boardinghouse. Shot on video and released in 1982. Definitely a bad movie, but I honestly didn't hate it. Seemed like there wasn't much of a script, and much of the dialogue sounded ad-libbed. Lots of nudity, so my pixelation skills will get a workout. One unfortunate sexual assault scene that I'll be able to dance around in my video. Also predicted the ending almost perfectly, too, which surprised me, especially considering how random and bonkers the movie is.

And, in case any of you were concerned, YES, there is a pie fight.

StudioCanal should be happy for the free publicity you are giving them.

Also that Boardinghouse movie looks like the kind of 1980s cult horror trash I would view on Tubi or YouTube.

Last night's editing session went over by at least an hour because Boardinghouse has so much unavoidable nudity that I've spent a lot of time pixelating it. I wasn't really an expert in this function before-hand, but I sure am now. Process: Memorized.

You should just pixelate everything's chest in every clip, whether their naughty bits are exposed or not. Women, men, dogs, furniture...

That thumbnail was more effective than I'd anticipated. I believe this is my first video where a full 1/3rd of the views on the first day came from YouTube's browse/search functions. This is exciting, because it means the YouTube algorithm is promoting my video to people more often.

When you strike it big and become a YouTube personality / social media influencer, remember all us little people who supported you from the start.

And make sure we get front row seats to your boxing match against Jake Paul.

    Of course. Absolutely.

I had about 5 years of Tae Kwon Do training that ended about 15 years ago, so I'm already too good of a fighter for Jake Paul to pick.

I would just really like to see Jake Paul get beat up.

You being the beating delivery service would just be icing on the cake.

"I need to fight somebody. What about that guy?"
"Sure. He's a blackbelt in Jiu Jitsu."
    "Aahh, nah. What about him?"
    "He's a kickboxing instructor."
    "Aaahh, nah. Him?"
    "Retired boxer."
    "When did he retire?"
    "1984."
    "Aaahh, nah. Him?"
    "The kickboxer's grandma?"
    "Yeah, how old is he?"
    "That's a woman and she's 93."
    "Aaaaah, nah. What about him?"
    "The cat?"
    "Yeah, how old is he?"
    "I dunno. Nine?"
    "Aaaaaaaahhhhh ... NAAAH. Him?"
    "That's a mailbox."
    "How old is he?"
    "It's a mailbox, Jake."
    "I'll fight him, then."

You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Spun Lepton again.

New video will be completed tonight and uploaded. Will go live on Thursday morning. Things is weirdly resistant to jokes, so I had to ... go a little meta with this one. I hope it works. I learned a few new editing tricks to pull it off.

I also plan to put a little teaser for July's recap at the end of this video. Watched the movie last night. PROJECT: METALBEAST with Kane Hodder as the titular metalbeast. Utterly stupid and ridiculous, but when the metalbeast starts rampaging, it does pick up. Also: Barry Bostwick!

I’ve seen Spun’s brain melt down like that before, but it was years ago when the scotch came out after several beers.
