Da Five Bloods is the only major possible nominee I've seen all year. I'll try and fix that in January.
    Blog!

    And it's happened once again
    I'll turn to a friend
    Someone that understands
And sees through the master plan
    But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up

After seeing the reactions online, this is how I imagine LAFCA when announcing their Best Film:

Maybe they see this year’s dearth of films and decide to use their awards to add fuel and reignite the Film vs TV debate again, bless ‘em.

And here's why I've been saying they should just combine 2020/2021 award shows.

    Barbarian - ***
    Bones and All - ***
    Tar - **

But the case I pointed out wasn't for a lack of films, they just didn't look for them (e.g. La Casa Lobo or a lot of anime films like A Whisker Away or Violet Evergarden).

In my defense, I would have given Lupin III The First (or anything from GKIDS, really) a go if I weren't already super behind on screeners and just wanting to send a complete ballot by the deadline. Plus, I thought GKIDS was going to send screener links like they do every year, but they didn't. It was an odd omission.

I'm starting to think GKIDS is not giving Casa Lobo the necessary push because of how audience unfriendly it is.

Also, I'll disowe you if you nominated Scoob!

    I am eternally grateful.

But yeah, I always try to review at least one GKIDS movie every year, so the fact we didn't get screeners from them this year was a big letdown for me. I'm worrying about how they're holding up during the pandemic.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    So many IP's.

    So much great content.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

I can't remember another time a movie was nominated for best director but not best picture.

    Said it on twitter but:
-Never heard of Music / Mauritarian until today.
-Jared Leto is the most GG Pick in a while. I should've known better than to predict Paul Raci.
-Delroy Lindo needs to be Supporting Actor.
-HFPA patting itself on the back for nominating three women directors... Now watch them vote in Sorkin.
-The Foreign Language rule is so dumb.

Waiting for Gold Derby to update to see how I predicted. I know I got Drama Actress at 100%.

    Barbarian - ***
    Bones and All - ***
    Tar - **

Colman for the favorite? She already won the Oscar.
