    No please don't say Latinx.

Cubans have long been pro GOP and conservative due to their belligerence to anything "socialist" (read: communist, read: Castro), but I also think Trump is performing much stronger w/ non Cuban Latinos esp. in Florida and Texas than the pundit class were saying. Dunno exactly why. If I had to guess, it's some of them (mostly male) like his brash machismo, some of them might be turned off by the BLM protests / riots. There's more racial tension between Blacks and Latinos than people like to admit. But I'm just spitballing right now. We'll get more info on the demographics in the coming days.
From my experience living with poor Latinos and blacks, the ones who support GOP are poor, uneducated people who still believe the Reganomics trickle down BS.

Protect the billionaires, because their money will make its way down to me!

I can't get my head around the red states with blue dots that hold more votes than all the red. I think it's a fundamental issue that won't be resolved with any policy, only with the complete dismantling of the voting system and how the US sees its rural areas. Otherwise, Trump will keep happening indefinitely.

Colorado (and some other states) voted to go to a popular voting system rather than electoral college.

Where it goes from the state, I don't quite understand, but it passed quite easily in Colorado.

Or they don't like having their jobs shut down by democrats?

Mandated government shutdowns are probably a top three reason why people are not interested in Biden. Going with your "experience", they won't be able to work remotely.

Not sure why throwing shade at my "experience", but I used to live in the poorest area of the Bronx. Definitely knew many, many more democrats than Republicans.

Voting for Trump because he will keep things from shutting down at a time when things NEED TO SHUT DOWN is lunacy.

It sounds like Maine could have one electoral vote swing to red.

If that were to happen, and things stay as it looks, we'll be at 269-269.

    Atlantic Article

Solid read here. Neat point about how liberals think they know what Latino voters want vs. other perceptions.

It appears this won't happen. So looking at 270-268. I'm sure there will be recounts in a couple states, if not lawsuits or something that we've never seen before.

That's stale by now, Trump's lead is down to under 500k right now, and falling. Michigan is also counting, Biden's lead up to 45k there and rising. Wisconsin and Nevada aren't updating. Also lead down to 85k in Georgia.

I get that it's stale from when it was published but the outcome is what I was referring to.

Is there even the slightest chance that Trump goes to prison if he doesn't win?

    Nah, we've seen it before.

3 of the current Supreme Court justices were on Bush's legal team in 2000. The Court will hand victory to Trump on a reasonable-sounding pretext, some 2020 version of the "hanging chad." The DNC will immediately cave, because that's what they do best.

They only way out is if the margin is so wide they can't outright claim Biden lost, but that seems unlikely in the given the time constraint.

The system isn't designed to take weeks to count and recount millions of votes, and the Constitution has no clause describing wtf anybody should do when we're not quite sure who won.

I can't remember 2000. Was that announced on the Tuesday night, with investigations later on, or did Bush take stage later that week?

Trump's lead in PA now down to less than 450k, from almost 700k earlier today.

PA doesn't even matter now. If Biden holds NV and MI that's 270. PA would make it a landslide.

I don't think so. The only possible scenario -and this is almost in sci/fi land but we're living in 2020- is that the supreme court takes it up and somehow decides all votes counted after 11:59PM on November 3rd turn into a pumpkin. That's such an affront to state law and state's rights that it would correctly be viewed as soft coup supreme court corruption, that it probably would trigger a civil war (which is why I don't think will happen).

If the counting were to stop right now as is, Biden would handily win.
