The Batman

I don't think any connections really track due to the make-up skull gang filming Batman with a modern smartphone, and Phillips' Joker being set in the 1970's. I know this movie is already committed to big prosthetic transformations, but I'm not betting on Joaquin Phoenix appearing as an elderly Joker in this world.

I was referring more to the fact that the 70s Joker (Phoenix) would exist as an iconic figure in the present-day of The Batman, and therefore, it wouldn’t be strange for modern gangs to be paying homage to him, like a Che Guevara figure. The ending of Joker suggests pretty strongly this will happen.

Edit: not to say that’s what’s happening here, as the gang’s makeup isn’t overtly clownish in the Joker sense.
