this might be a good time to mention that for all my love of the show, i actually find the final episodes underwhelming. (especially compared with the ever wonderful finale of book2)

the fire lord does not turn out to be that formidable an enemy. aang beats him by going into the avatar stage which has always been his trump card from...first episode. it's weird too since at the beginning of book 2, there seems to be this suggestion he's afraid of losing himself in that stage.

and after all, they can't come up with anyone strong enough to match power with toph.
