If this is the only Western film Kore-eda makes, it will be fine by me although I enjoyed it a lot. It was funny seeing it so short after Frankie (which covers a similar spectrum of people surrounding an aging actress) although this is at least ten times that film. You can't go wrong with Deneuve, Binoche and their juicy roles as mother-daughter and it's an intimate drama with genuine wit and emotion. Another score for Kore-eda.
