Long overdue, imho

I haven’t watched it in years, but I liked it back then. I would not consider it an OFFICIAL Scar Recommendation.

EDIT: But if you want to see Costner play a serial killer, it’s worth your time.

What a weird movie. Who are we supposed to be rooting for here? The psychopath Mr Brooks? Why?

Whelp .. this isn't a good and I wouldn't recommend it but, at the same time, I didn't hate it.

For something made in 2007 with elements cobbled together from better movies ("The Stepfather," "Fight Club", "Apt Pupil") it gives off a strong 90s vibe, and it kinda reminded me of the shit Joe Estherhaus used to write when he drank too much --- another convoluted pop thriller with an all-star cast trying to be clever and ending up dumb.

Crazy there were so many subplots. A couple of them are even interesting, even though the writing is so awkward that none of them are developed to potential. (My favorite was [

For an "unofficial" rec this was a pretty good, especially for a lazy Saturday night.

I kinda wish somebody with skill would adapt the thing and make it what it could have been.

I laughed out loud when Dane Cook pissed himself. So 4 people in a large room, somebody pisses on the floor and yet it makes no sound and emits no odor. And the guy just leaves it there afterward, lol.

They even slightly started a dialog that resembled something like "she is me" or that the desire to kill was hereditary. And then of course that dream sequence. Oof. I had my arms up in the air for a few moments.

I think I watched 20 minutes of this once, got sidetracked by something else, and then never felt the need to continue it. Still don't.

I liked this one and gave it 8/10. I think it got on my queue because of The Onion's New Cult Canon. Netflix probably has it on DVD. Recently watched Way of the Gun (another Canon film) and it was pretty decent (on Prime for free) - they also have Cage's Vampire's Kiss which is definitely recommended to see Cage at 11.
