I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I admit I'm a fan of the first.

But I can't believe they made a sequel out this.

    This soooo bad ahaha..

But in ideal quarantine fashion I watched it over video-chat with my friend who I watched the first one with, cracking jokes about it and perfectly predicting dialogue as it went along. I saw it coming by simply the nature of making a sequel to it, but it's a shame they had to completely retcon and re-write the mechanics and ending of the original in an attempt to continue the story here. I wasn't a fan of the first one, but it's a handsomely made movie with a nice atmosphere and premise that kept me involved in it.

This one, on the other hand, is just a crazy, clunky attempt at re-creating something that could've only worked once. I will say there is one nicely indelible horror image in it towards the end [
], but that comes at like minute-80 of 86, so needless to say it's way too little too late. But at least it's short!
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

I dont think anything was technically retconed was it? There was an explanation for all that stuff.

Also.. Still not the worst movie of 2020!

Well, I guess my definition of a retcon in the sense that every character motivation and piece of mythology they illustrated and had every intention of being true in the first one (especially if it was never a sequel) is suddenly revised and made largely inert in retrospect by what's explained in this one simply to be able to provide a continuation. Something as simple as Brahms actually being alive when the whole reveal in the original is that he never was is such a massive change.
