Any of you who have been vaccinated having any strange urges to purchase Microsoft products?

    If you catch my drift.

Got my first dose the other day. Next one in May.

Only had a bit of soreness in my arm for a day or so. Nothing else major in reaction, thankfully. Worried about second dose tho, as it's near beginning of workweek. Don't wanna have a bad reaction.

I could have got a shot tonight, fuck. They had 70 extra doses at the Sears nearby that they needed to use- would have seen the tweet if I wasn't dicking around on Google Maps. Luckily, they did find folks to show up in 30 minutes. Coulda been meeee.

Canada's vaccine distribution is embarrassing. Truly awful.

Old people are the first group eligible. Many old people are saying they don't want the vaccine (which IMO shouldn't be allowed, but thats a different argument). But that isn't opening up spots for younger people. They are still being held in the queue even though they are refusing.

So vaccines are coming into the country and apparently expiring because eligible candidates are refusing them, and they aren't aren't redirecting them to others.

    Terrible.

I've been sick all week. Went to doctor. Because of my symptoms, even though I already had covid, he wanted to do another swab to make sure. So now I'm off rest of week until results come back. Sigh. Feeling improved, and I passed chest xrays, so thats good.

    That's surreal. How awful.

Still, when you look at percentage of vaccinated:
    Canada - 26,2% (1 dose), 2,5% (fully)
    Argentina - 12,7% (1 dose), 1,8% (fully)

We are peaking in deaths right now and there are people making a personal crusade of keeping the schools open.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    Wow, that's wild.

I still think it's pretty incredible that we have a vaccine this soon. I just think the distribution of it has been (in some places) problematic.

I'm sorry. Also I guess Canada has dumb people like the US does who don't want to get the vaccine. Shame.

Yet another huge win for corporate billionaires, and kick in the balls to their own employees.

In Ontario, frontline workers do not get even ONE day of paid sick leave.

Starvation wages, zero sick time, in most cases no benefits of any kind. And these workers have it worse in the US than here.

Enough is enough. This view that retail/service industry workers are scum and don't deserve basic living standards is not going to change until the people at the top start making changes.

Anyone who works 40+ hours a week should be able to afford basic living necessities. Full stop. And until that is reality, corporate heads need to stop giving themselves millions / billions in completely unearned bonuses.

CDC made the weird announcement that vaccinated people don't have to wear masks outside if they aren't in crowds.

    Biden went around parading it.

    That seems pretty reckless.

Why exactly do you think the recommendation is weird and reckless?

Obviously you know much better than I do. But I thought it was too soon to tell if the virus can still be carried and transmitted by people who have received the vaccine?
