Well, this topic sure is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy day.
    I do what I can!

After reorganizing my stuff in the basement, (I store it under the stairs), I found another tote of MRE's I got a while back, plus a few other goodies. So, here's just what I have stored under the stairs.....

~65 cans of assorted soups, with a couple good old fashioned Chef Boyardees mixed in.
    ~20 MRE's (I forgot I had those....)
    2 #10 Cans of Granola
6 #10 Cans of Augason Farms Freeze Dried Meals (Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Asian Teriyaki, Beef Stroganof, Chili Mac, Spaghetti)
1 #10 Can of Mountain House Freeze dried Eggs w/ Bacon
10 pounds of quick rolled oats
3 #10 Cans of freeze dried Berries (Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
~25 Individual Mountain House Freeze Dried Bag dinners (2-2.5 servings per bag), great for hiking / hunting. And trust me, if you've been busting you ass all day, that one bag is one serving.
A random 5 pound bag of pinto beans
Bucket 'O Towels (shop towels treated with aloe and what not for clean up)
    Box of Contractor grade bags.
Box of 50 heavy duty disposable nitrile gloves
    3 Rolls of Gorilla Tape
A box of portawipes compressed toilet paper
29 9 hour candles (suppose I should get that little lantern one of these days)

And that doesn't include any of my camping gear / first aid stuff / firearms / etc.
Glad I inventoried, I have more than I thought.

EDIT: Water: I'd say at least 30 gallons of drinking water, and that's without my two 5 gallon camping jugs filled.

Are we talking hypothetically here, or is there something you guys in the states know that we Canadians don't?

    Is there an expected outbreak?

Based on the long incubation rate of this guy, I expect more cases to crop up. From there, who knows. Honestly, I already had most of this stuff before this disease popped up.

I am not prepared for anything at this present time. Maybe I'll start.

As for news, I love news magazines and newspapers via Twitter. I also still like BBC, ABC and NBC News, too. Reuters is a nice from the source thing. I loathe cable news although I do like Chris Hayes.

Think my first stop this morning will be at a hardware store to pick up a respirator. Knew I should have grabbed one of those awhile ago....

    I still haven't seen Gremlins 2.

    Despite owning it.

    On Bluray.

    For 5 years.

My overall stock portfolio is taking a beating, but I went in on some pharmaceutical stock that has literally tripled. Seeing that stock is a feeling in itself.

Would it be poor taste to be looking for a Captain Trips T-shirt?

    Asking for a friend.
Go for it. I am surprised more are not out there. Also I had super virus and nanobites as taking out the human race. Oh and cats.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I'm half fucked job wise but it was time to move on anyways. After 8 years of doing the same thing my "Time to quit" meter was rusty.
