    The Green Knight (Lowery, 2020)...

Based on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. From wiki if you don't know the gist of the tale:

Sir Gawain, a knight of King Arthur's Round Table, accepts a challenge from a mysterious "Green Knight" who dares any knight to strike him with his axe if he will take a return blow in a year and a day. Gawain accepts and beheads him with his blow, at which the Green Knight stands up, picks up his head and reminds Gawain of the appointed time. In his struggles to keep his bargain, Gawain demonstrates chivalry and loyalty until his honour is called into question by a test involving Lady Bertilak, the lady of the Green Knight's castle.

Looks wonderful. Just the right touch of fantasy and earthiness alike. Ralph Ineson plays the Green Knight.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I wonder how close this is going to hew to the poem. I haven't seen the Stephen Weeks films, I should do that, but I'm aware that they deviate from the poem in significant ways (i.e. they don't preserve the major plot twists).
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

This doesn’t do anything for me. I’m angry! But I guess this is par for the course for me with Lowery.

I haven't seen Ghost Story, but I have an idea of what to expect. I may wait for a few reviews to see what we're getting out of this.

Love it. Looks right up my alley. Ralph Ineson looks and sounds awesome.

I made the mistake of reading the synopsis of the poem it is based on; if the movie follows that plot, it's a big pass from me.

Avoiding this trailer after seeing how good the first one is.

VERY nervous that this will be like Lowery's other movies...

Yeah, the marketing for this is stellar and ominous, but I'm expecting something significantly more existential, quiet and minimalist from it.

I dread the theater experience only because of the audience's reactions to it.

I'm happy to see additional footage. But HOLY. SHIT. This video is a full-throatedly atrocious production. Every choice made is a bad one. Ineson narrating is wonderful of course, but he's often sped up and given some hack words to say. The dated dialogue-whipping-on-screen is just irritating. The little family tree they show near the end is partially covered up so that you can't even see the whole fucking thing. It's fast and flashy for a movie that will likely be anything but. And this is direct from A24. I'm baffled.

I actually liked it, but still think the actual movie is going to be A24 sleeper for most.
