I was doubting the entire time that Parasite would pull off Director/Film once it lost Best Editing. That said, this is the first time since McQueen's film that I genuinely felt delight in a Best Picture win; it almost makes up for the Academy's dismissal of Burning, Steven Yeun, and Lee's script there.

    Ranked:
    Parasite
    12 Years a Slave
    Moonlight

    Spotlight
    The Shape of Water
    Birdman
    Argo
    The Artist
    The King’s Speech

Still haven't seen: Green Book, though we might finally watch it this year since there's more remove from the silliness of its win.
    The Boat People - 9
The Power of the Dog - 7.5
The King of Pigs - 7

The Artist and King's Speech are jokes. Completely forgettable and will never be in a Oscar highlight montage reel.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

This was the first time in a few decades where I didn’t watch any of the Oscars.

I was binge watching Cutthroat Kitchen and completely forgot.

Hahah cue automatic backlash against Parasite. It was apparently the movie everyone loved, now it's sure to become the most hated.
Hey now this isn't the Correrino. But yeah.

The Hurt Locker-great but A Serious Man was my pick for Best Picture. I did see 7 of them from the nom list.
The King's Speech-Solid and forgettable. The Social Network should have won.
The Artist-Great, but Midnight In Paris was my choice.
Argo-Great, yet a safe boring choice. I haven't seen enough of the field from this year but I loved Django Unchained of course.
    12 Years a Slave-N/A but I did see 4 of the nominees.
Birdman-Love it, I only saw 4 of the nominees again, whatever.
Spotlight-N/A, I only saw 3 of the noms from that year.
Moonlight-N/A, see above, I'm lazy, whatever.
The Shape of Water-Love it, I think Lady Bird should have won, I saw all of the noms, blah blah.
Green Book-Hell no I didn't see it. I saw 5 of the noms, the Spike Lee was the best of those.
Parasite-Gonna try to see it, I have viewed 6 of the noms from this year.

I feel like it's not even close. It's Parasite and the drop off is huge. Organize the rest of the of them however you want with King's Speech being at the bottom.
Is anyone really going to sit down and watch Green Book again?

In my rankings, Green Book was the last of those that I'd have any desire to ever revisit. Everything below it, I personally don't feel I'd ever have any real interest in seeing again.

I know a lot of people don't like it, and I'm lukewarm about it too, but I've been reading about how Parasite being a foreign language film is so groundbreaking ... and I know parts of it are in English and it takes place in Hollywood, but The Artist is French as fuck. It's also weird being a black & white, mostly silent film in the 21st century.

There are posters on that site who backlash against the Best Picture winner no matter what it is. However I didn't really see that happen this year, although I wonder how many saw Parasite.

Parasite was excellent btw. So far it is the best out of the 2010s BP winners I have seen.
