    Dammit.

Dr. Sleep is a surprising bomb to me. Sure a bit of a risk I guess, but damn, ITS THE FUCKING SHINING.

    I'll find a replacement.
It's a hard movie to market IMO. We watched The Shining for Jack Torrance, all said and done, and not for the "Shining" as Doctor Sleep gets out there. Plus, the material is so different then what's in the original movie that it's almost a totally different genre.

Which I respected in it btw. It's more Sci-Fi Horror then anything almost.

I dont disagree with anything here...but with the hotness of King at the moment (It: Chapter One, Pet Semetary remake, It: 2 on the way) I figured it would at least score semi-hit numbers. I didn't expect a capper, but 100 mill didn't seem out of reach. Its a legendary horror film its sequelizing! Oh well. Just goes to show, its never the same ever year. One year a comedy (the heat), next year a horror (it), next year a cartoon (take your pick), its different every year. Swing and a miss. Too bad, because its actually quite a good flick.

Was it even marketed at all? I literally only ever saw a trailer cause it was posted, well, here. Outside that, never got a trailer in front of anything, never saw any ads for it online, never even saw the poster hanging at the theater until it was playing. Basically, the polar opposite from what we’ve seen from all the other recent King adaptations. Did anyone even know it existed?

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    Opening:
    Knives Out (MadMan)
    Queen & Slim (Ezee E)

*Both movies technically got Wednesday night premieres or early previews, but not a full week... not quite sure how to factor this in? How've we done it in the past?

Whatever day they're over 200 theaters is day one. Before that is not counted.

Except they rolled it all into Wednesday results where it was in thousands of theaters, similar to Thursday night previews. I think it'll carry over into next week, will just have to see.

Then I vote count it and move on. We can't get too carried away trying to nickel and dime every single thing, and anyone that says otherwise is welcome to run the accounting imo

Only one wide release this week, and nobody drafted it!
