Interesting helmer. So let's see how long it takes before he departs.

I don’t understand who this movie is for.

I don’t know a single person who saw the first one.

    I liked the first one.

But a sequel directed by Ben Wheatley is for me.

So I'll be very disappointed when he inevitably drops out.

I watched about 40 minutes and turned it off because it was so completely fucking boring.

I no longer feel like I understand the business side --- the idea of making sequels to movies that bombed at home and barely made money overseas.

I also don't get Wheatley's participation. Why would a studio want him? He makes stupidly violent niche movies for a niche audience. I love him, but hiring him for a franchise makes no sense.

Pretty sure everything he's done has be "R"-rated and feels like a hard "R."

Heh, remember High Rise? That was fucked up.

No point to make, just yeah.

I thought it was an odd movie. Then I played the game it was based on.

It was pretty damn good adaptation of the material. *raises eyebrow*

No longer Wheatley. It's Misha Green.

I watched that TR reboot. Forgot most of it except some shit with her dad in a cave and a waterfall?

I liked the reboot as it was pretty consistent with the game it was based on. Vikander was good as well, though frankly it could be improved upon.

I agree. A lot of the movie is silly, but thats how the game was, so fair play!

I'd go with bland over silly. And I personally don't subscribe to the idea that because a game is silly, then a movie based on it has to be silly also. But then I don't think the games are silly either. Plenty of genuine goosebump material during the TR games I have played. But some levity is always nice. The granddaddy of them all, Raiders of the Lost Ark, has those too.

I wouldn’t call new Tomb Raider media silly or bland- the Jolie TR films are a different story.
I just bought The Last Revelation for PS1 to replay- that’s probably my favorite Tomb Raider game.

IIRC the original Tomb Raiders is D_Davis' all time favorite game.

Seems Netflix is going to release a TR anime. Which reminds me I still need to get to castlevania.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?
