I haven't seen it, but the Winona Ryder one from the '90s is highly regarded among my female cinephile friends. I wonder if they will go for this one.

I watched it in middle school, and remembered it being good. My main memory of it though is my class absolutely erupting at the scene where Ryder and Christian Bale kissed, because there's very visible saliva hanging between their mouths afterwards for so unexpectedly many seconds that it seemed like the strand won't ever break, lol.

I hope it’s narrated by Moe Szyslak.
That's a lotta different facial structures for sisters ha.
I'm interested in seeing a take of it. I like some of the actors here. Watson sorta sticks out tho.

Meg was to be played by Emma Stone, but then she had a commitment with The Favourite promo tour. Weird to think a Brit comes to play this role while the previous actress, American, was occupied with promoting a British role lol.Quoting Wryan (view post)

Hah, that was my first thought as well.Quoting Wryan (view post)
No, I’m being played by Chris Hemsworth. But they asked him bulk up a little more than Thor, first.Quoting Peng (view post)

Heard some grumblings from people who have seen the movie that some of it strikes too modern or anachronistic a tone. You get a bit of that in the trailer, but it's certainly no Coppola's Marie Antoinette. Also worth noting that the very modern-sounding speech from Jo over the end of the trailer does not come from the book but does, however, come from one of Alcott's letters.

Yeah, I saw that too and thought it weird.
I'm not really sure I care about fidelity to period or language in this case but I guess for some reason people expect every woman in a period piece needs to sound like Scarlett O'Hara.
It's admittedly one of the things that annoys me the most about period films, unless it's done very deliberately. And that trailer is more than a bit embarassing despite the great cast.
