So how do you do it? Do you show the movie with yourself reacting? Or just you reacting? It would surprise me if you could stream the movie.

Hahah I do an intro sharing a few trivia and context about the movie, then show an animated short and then, yeah, I just stream it. So far I'm small enough that nobody notices it.

I should clarify that it wasn't originally my plan to do this. I did the same thing every week at a bar without charging entrance or gaining any profit from it, so now that all bars are closed, the owner asked me if I could do something to keep the brand alive because mine was the only activity they had that could be done online.

EDIT: When I did the first movie (which was Kung Fu Hustle, because last month's theme was mobster movies like this is outer space ones) I wrote Sony's legal department a very funny e-mail asking for permission. I'm sure no one even read it but it was fun writing it.

Thats awesome! I hope they keep ignoring you lol. Our podcast got permanently banned from youtube about ep17 because I used a 20 second sound click from T2 that had Guns N Roses song in it. I was like, are you fucking serious? We had like 5 listeners lol

It's ridiculous how much they police small things like that. And I think it varies a bit depending on the record company or even the band itself - I know Robert Fripp is infamous for paying for systematically taking down King Crimson clips on YouTube. And now in COVID-19 they uploaded a bunch of official stuff for free. So maybe he was just obsessive about quality.

It was definitely their AI. Theres fucking porn on youtube....but a tiny sound clip got us killed. With no warning. And it fell under fair use too. No appeal ability, just straight axe. Oh well, live and learn.

Damn I always work those days. My work schedule keeps shifting these days. Still if I ever have one of them off I'll try and tune in!

I like Star Trek but I don't love it like I do Star Wars or Doctor Who.

I know it's an AI, my theory is some music is more policed than other but I don't really know if that's true hahah

And damn, that's a shame, Madman. I started out doing it on Tuesdays too (it was Tuesday afternoons when I did it at the bar) but three nights a week just felt too much like an actual job so I cut that one.

A few months ago, I don't know if you remember, several of us posted our top 10 animated films of the decade and one of them (I believe it was Peng) had Don Hertzfeldt's it's such a beautiful day (which I had never heard before of).

Well, I just watched it and I'm absolutely gutted. Great film and I think it's gonna make my internal list.

Yeah work busted me down to part time and partly because of coronavirus I have still been working regular hours lately. Also I never get Fridays off reguardless. Tuesdays are a good day for cool stuff but I never get those off either, heh.

Yes! Just one of the most exquisite heartbreaks ever.

Did you know about Don Hertzfeldt before that? I also recommend his shorts, especially the two World of Tomorrow thingies, in which there are two threads in our forum here started by Watashi.

I had seen his Simpson opening and I remember "My Anus is Bleeding", but I hadn't seriously taken a look at his work.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    Steak fries are pointless.

Wait...is this supposed to be only about media?
