The Color Out of Space (Richard Stanley, Nic Cage, Spectrevision)

    Are you sitting down, kids?

Richard Stanley (Dust Devil, Hardware) is teaming up with Nic Cage to adapt Lovecraft's personal favorite of his stories, "The Colour Out of Space," for Spectrevision (Mandy).

This is either gonna be a masterpiece or a fiasco, and either way, I can't wait.

The announced presence of Cage makes me less than enthused---it'll be shit if he chews scenery as he usually does.

There's a short form version I wanted to see but couldn't find, and now I can't remember which one it was.

    Maybe this? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7242462

    Or this? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1756479/

Irish if you have any General Lovecraft interest, try to get your hands on a copy of the 2005 silent film “The Call of Cthulhu”.

It’s great stuff. Very clever stuff done with the limited budget (it’s like, a small step up from being a “fan film”).

Dust Devil is a highly underrated horror flick. This project sounds interesting.

That one is pretty good. I liked that the people who made it committed to the gimmick.

I'm more interested in a resurrected Richard Stanley career possibility than I am another go-round with any of the dozens of mediocre losers who never seem to be told no to another round at the fucking buffet.

Well shit now I gotta check this guy out.

I guess "Hardware" and "Dust Devil" are the best places to start?

I have not seen Hardware. I dig Dust Devil a lot, although I saw the DC thanks to Netflix back in 2014. Shudder I think only has the regular version.
