It's interesting how comedically-lensed and even slapstick-y the above North American trailer is, almost looking to appeal directly to Illumination-loving kids crowd (and perhaps it was set to be shown before screenings of The Grinch this weekend?) where the international trailer feels more expected in tone from Laika:
Neither trailer blows me away (aside from the variety of gorgeous visuals) but considering how great I think I've found the studio's previous four films I'm obviously still anticipating it super highly. And I'm sure there's a deeply somber, allegorical element to it not hinted at in the above marketing that'll be an emotional gut-punch.
