Also keep in mind they film everything in this cool futuristic room with minimal crew.

I think I'd still be amazed that it was that fast even without a pandemic. Granted, the episodes are probably 25-45 mins, but still...

Ill pay to rent it. Been wanting to see it since it was announced. Pandemic time means perspective for me, and Im alive, not spending much on gas, makeup, etc. and I still have a job. $30 aint too much for me.
I lied. As soon as they announced the stream date of December 4th, I decided against the $30. Plus Ive got a hell of a lot of movies on streaming otherwise that I want to see first.

Not the Disney cash grab they were hoping for but this is a lot more than I thought they would get.

Mulan has reportedly grossed $261 million domestically via Disney+, and if that's correct, it's ahead of Tenet's $207 million domestic haul. (which is also higher than I think I was expecting).

Fly-by-night marketing companies always claim they have viewership numbers, but they're always full of shit.

And the author here made up her own metrics to arrive at this imagined Disney "windfall," pulling total viewership numbers out of her ass. (Besides which, $261MM would be an absolute disaster for a movie with an estimated budget of $200MM.)

    Under normal circumstances, I agree.

If it's $261M on Disney+ without theater exhibition, and considering everything Covid, that's pretty amazing, since it's been... two weeks?

They sold the movie at a premium, though, so even the fabricated box office isn't impressive. $260MM at their price point is an audience of 8 million.

Network TV shows such as "NCIS" pull better audience numbers every week. "Game of Thrones" and "Walking Dead" habitually attract twice as many.

For another comparison, "Troll's World Tour," which debuted last spring, had an audience of around 5 million over the same time period.

Very cool. Super young, too, so she can grow up with the role.
