    Lol WandaVision.

Doing a "What If..." is brilliant. You can really bring in anyone from the Marvel universe and see what sticks with people.

Deadline updated their article: "Disney said its high-stakes entry into the crowded streaming fray will cost $6.99 a month when it launches November 12 in the U.S., with a full-year option of $69.99, or $5.83 a month"

Reported as $6.99 from CNBC: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/11/disn...9-a-month.html

Also in the news: apparently Skitch and I are really bad at basic math.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Honestly $6.99 is so low I might even sign up for this, at least for the first month.

That's a pretty cheap rental to rewatch the first ~8 seasons of "The Simpsons."

It's a no brainer for me. The Simpsons was a great addition. My only concern is the Disney+ app will be available on Amazon Fire/Cube/SmartTV shit.

I'm left wondering what streaming services this will hinder to the point of killing. Netflix, Warner, and Apple+ for sure, but Shudder? Amazon? Sorry, but it's hard to get out of doomsday mode over here.

So that's why I don't have the incentive to cave on this yet. . .but I can't say I'm not tempted by The Simpsons, the Stargirl movie (don't judge me; loved the book) and DARKWING FREAKIN' DUCK.

EDIT: Also there's plans for a bundle with Disney+, ESPN+ *and* Hulu. That's an enticing enough offer to quit cable if the Mouse Ears still let Hulu offer live TV.

I don't think it will hinder anyone.

Netflix is too established. Amazon is too big. Services like Shudder are so niche that they don't compete directly with Disney. (Unless you take Reed Hastings'the view where everything online is competition.)

I'm wondering how they're gonna brand and market the service post-merger. Will it be like Netflix, where kids-stuff is segregated into a different menu and subsystem?

How are they gonna attract college boys who want to watch "Deadpool" without pissing off the soccer moms want to play "The Little Mermaid" for the their toddler?

Is Amazon's service succeeding? Seems like all the other ones to me.

I think so. Even without the free videos I still find it valuable to watch movies that are still in theaters or got limited release. I bought Dragged Across Concrete on Amazon for $6. And I didn't even pay $6 for it because every time I buy something on Amazon, sometimes I defer the 2 day shipping and they give me $1 digital credit every time I do that.

Netflix has a great customer base, but I find myself watching it less and less lately.

People are quick to jump on this stuff but could be a temporary thing as they get their internal shit together and consolidate.

This is something I've been thinking about ever since the merger took effect. RIP arthouse theaters.

So when people were complaining about the use of Baron Zemo, Disney was saving him for a TV series. I like it. Better than the shit villains Agents of Shield goes up against.
