Yes, it's a real teaser poster. Apparently it'll be up at TIFF.

Also, after that was posted at AICN, Harry Knowles wrote that his understanding of the plot was some kind of Universal Soldier-type story where Rambo goes against genetically engineered super-soldiers.

This is wrong.

Sly himself left Harry this voice message talking about the actual plot of the film.

So yeah, it's a seemingly supernatural, almost Predator-like story where Rambo goes against some kind of feral beast.

Supernatural? You're taking the "beast" part too literally. Listening to the voicemail and reading Knowles' original description, it's obvious that Stallone meant "beast" as in a crazy savage man. It's about a military outfit in the woods training infants to grow up to be deadly soldiers, and one of them escapes and becomes a dangerous unstoppable killer in the woods.

So it's basically First Blood, kind of, but with Rambo now as the chaser.

Look at the poster. And I listened to the voicemail again. Sounds/looks like a beast to me.

To be fair, Stallone really isn't too clear.

At the beginning of the voice message he describes it as a monster, just like I quoted in my post above. He says its "a 'thing'".

Later in the message he says it's "[his] primitive self".

So yeah, I guess we really don't know.
