I'll finish at about 805. Wow I need a boost somewhere. Come on Us!

100% on the Tomatometer with 41 reviews in. Excellent trailer. I don't see why it can't match Get Out's success.

Us will probably get $60-$80 right out of the gate I think.
I remember Us felt like a steal at the time, though a part of me worried Universal would delay it to play in a bigger season (it didn't have a trailer until Christmas day, remember). But nope! Can't wait!

Yeh, no way I'm getting $170 million out of Captive State and Nancy Drew.
I'm not sure what's going on with the Nancy Drew movie. Apparently it opened in at least a few places last week, but Box Office Mojo doesn't have numbers for it yet. That does not tend to be a good sign.

Wooo, Us! (U-S-eh! U-S-eh!)
I expected big things but not more than double Get Out's opening weekend and the 2nd biggest opening for an original live-action movie ever (the first being Avatar, apparently).
So if I'm calculating this right, I just need it to make $169 million in these first four weeks to catch up to Drago for 1st place!
Peele's last movie only dipped -15% in Weekend 2, and since Us is already clearly a bigger and more divisive beast, that won't be repeated, but maybe its bigger initial success can still propel enough word of mouth for a very solid number? We shall see!
[Edited to fix the box office record.]

I think Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase went straight to on demand.
Weird there's no data on it; it definitely played in theaters here in Charlotte for at least a couple weeks. Seems to be gone now though. Not sure how to handle it here.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
