    I say we go by festival dates for simplicity's sake. Also, limiting ourselves to films that got a commercial release in the US seems needlessly restrictive, not to mention vaguely imperialist.

    I had Hurt Locker all in the ballot, looked at my old ballot, and figured something had to be seriously wrong if I didn't have it in one category.
